The insanely raw Italian band, Highlord, has finally given us a taste of their most

recent record, Freakin’ Out of Hell, which is set to bless our eardrums on December 9,

2022. Having been half a decade since their last full-length release, Hic Sunt Leones via

Massacre Records, the band is ready to give it their all and show us what they’re made

of. After hearing the band's explanation of why the single “Eyes Wide Open” is

fragmented the way it is, it gives a whole new understanding for their overall view and

\use of progressive sections in a power-metal piece. Whilst being in the music industry

for over 2 decades, the band takes the time to sit down and create a masterpiece that

not only avoids run-of-the-mill happy metal tracks but also serves up cold, hard truth

within the lines. Even after all this time, Highlord had always been there to guide us into

the “Sweet Unknown”.

I have always liked a prelude on an album because it really does prepare you for

the absolute show you’re about to endure. That being said, “Prelude to Hell” sets the

stage for “Soul Sucker”. I don’t think the album would sit as well as it does with me if

that first track weren’t there to ease me into the power you’re handed on a silver platter.

Having each song sitting around 4 minutes is a blessing as a curse bundled into one

because if you’re into it, you’re in for a treat, and if you hate it, you’re sitting there hating

life and waiting for the next track. The warm feeling of familiarity warps around me as

Marchisio belts line after line; however, I can’t quite put my finger on what’s so amicable

about the voice spilling from my headphones.

 

The band explains that the theme of “keep[ing] our eyes well open to detect a

long list of deceits” follows through between “Off the Beaten Path” and “Eye Open

Wide”. The 2 song buffer in between the two similarly themed songs makes the whole

album have a vibe in which always seems to tip back to the rooted heaviness. Perhaps,

the aggression and realness of this record roots itself in being written and recorded in

the midst of quarantine. Maybe, the band wanted the straightforward nature of the anger

and rawness to finally hit the charts in such a way that’s had years waiting for

comparable tracks.

The electricity brought to the table with “Fallen From Grace” is exactly what this

record needed. The loyal fans of Highlord are definitely in for a roller coaster ride from

00:01 to 51:05. The gratitude these guys portray on all social platforms is absolutely

incredible because without the followers, it’s just a few guys in a room playing some

guitars. From the Facebook of the band,”If you are a real power metal fan, you have to

take a listen…” which only goes to show how incredibly proud they are of their work and

are more than exhilarated to serve up the goods in less than a week! Here’s to a

successful release and ecstatic metalheads worldwide!

La banda italiana increíblemente cruda, Highlord, finalmente nos ha dado una muestra de su música más disco reciente, Freakin 'Out of Hell, que bendecirá nuestros tímpanos el 9 de diciembre, 2022. Habiendo pasado media década desde su último lanzamiento de larga duración, Hic Sunt Leones via Massacre Records, la banda está lista para darlo todo y mostrarnos de qué están hechos de. Después de escuchar la explicación de la banda de por qué el sencillo "Eyes Wide Open" es fragmentado de la forma en que está, da una comprensión completamente nueva de su visión general y uso de secciones progresivas en una pieza de power-metal. Mientras estaba en la industria de la música durante más de 2 décadas, la banda se toma el tiempo para sentarse y crear una obra maestra que no solo evita las pistas de happy metal comunes y corrientes, sino que también ofrece una verdad fría y dura dentro de las líneas. Incluso después de todo este tiempo, Highlord siempre había estado allí para guiarnos en el "Dulce Desconocido".

Siempre me ha gustado el preludio de un álbum porque realmente te prepara para

el espectáculo absoluto que estás a punto de soportar. Dicho esto, “Prelude to Hell” establece el escenario de “Soul Sucker”. No creo que el álbum se sienta tan bien como lo hace conmigo si esa primera pista no estaba allí para facilitarme el poder que te entregan en bandeja de plata.Tener cada canción sentada alrededor de 4 minutos es una bendición como una maldición agrupada en una porque si te gusta, te espera un regalo, y si lo odias, estás sentado allí odiando vida y esperando la siguiente pista. La cálida sensación de familiaridad se deforma a mi alrededor mientras Línea tras línea de cinturones Marchisio; sin embargo, no puedo identificar qué es tan amistoso sobre la voz saliendo de mis auriculares.

 

La banda explica que el tema de “mantener[ing] nuestros ojos bien abiertos para detectar un

larga lista de engaños” continúa entre “Off the Beaten Path” y “Eye Open Amplio". El búfer de 2 canciones entre las dos canciones de temática similar hace que todo. El álbum tiene una vibra en la que siempre parece volcarse hacia la pesadez arraigada. Quizás, la agresividad y realidad de este disco radica en que fue escrito y grabado en medio de la cuarentena. Tal vez, la banda quería la naturaleza directa de la ira. y la crudeza para finalmente llegar a las listas de éxitos de una manera que ha tenido años esperando pistas comparables.

 

La electricidad puesta sobre la mesa con “Fallen From Grace” es exactamente lo que esta

registro necesario. Los fans leales de Highlord definitivamente van a vivir una montaña rusa desde 00:01 a 51:05. La gratitud que muestran estos muchachos en todas las plataformas sociales es absolutamente increíble porque sin los seguidores, son solo unos pocos tipos en una habitación jugando guitarras Del Facebook de la banda, “Si eres un verdadero fanático del power metal, tienes que escúchalo…”, lo que solo demuestra lo increíblemente orgullosos que están de su trabajo y ¡Están más que emocionados de servir los productos en menos de una semana! Esto es para un ¡lanzamiento exitoso y metaleros extático en todo el mundo!
