Break Me Down is an Italian Alternative Metal band from Milan, formed in 2017.

​

The energy and beauty of our songs release a powerful emotion that explodes during our live performances. In September 2019, they released the first single "Your Game" from the new album "The Pond". The new LP was released on October 17, 2019 in all digital stores!

​

They released their first EP "Resilience" in January 2018, recorded and mixed by Matteo Magni in Magnitude Studio.

​

Among many shows throughout his country, there are some very important as an opening act for international artists such as: Crazy Town, Joe Stump's Tower of Babel, Vinnie Moore and Lacuna Coil.

"The Pond"

​

Your game

 

We start with a heavy sound and little by little the track is getting a little faster, heavy riffs next to the blunt drummer and with a catchy sound from the beginning! Irene's voice begins to break through and gives us a dose of good alternative Metal that we can hear from this first track.

 

If you're brave

 

Strong guitars and a slow and melodic sound, the musical scale is perfect for the melancholy and dense Irene's voice, another good Riff can listen for a brief moment with the correspondence of Irene's voice.

 

The Noose

 

This song is a cover letter of the album, heavier than the previous two with power in the instruments and more in the guitars! More rhythmic and catchy, the drums are great! I like the heaviness of The Noose!

 

Nightmare

 

A heavy entry! A machine gun in tempos between the guitars / drums, Irene's voice expands at times, a musical nightmare like the name of the song, a song with greater rudeness, the guitars and drums completely form the full force!

 

Just tonight

 

Hot entry, loud sound on this track, slow tempos, while the musical part is strong and aggressive, her beautiful voice gives the most emotional and sentimental contrast.

 

O.C.D.

 

Curious entry, those strings give a modern and more conceptual touch, and in what follows of the track we can hear it, here I hear a more loaded Rock track!

 

New Hero

 

An explosive and faster entry, I like the combination of rhythms in this song at times aggressive and then if very alternative, without leaving aside the heavy part and without those riffs that give more body to the song.

 

Goodbye

 

We enter with a track full of feeling, full of emotions, Irene's voice merges at times with the same changes of rhythm and scales, a song in melancholic context, perhaps this is the ballad of this great debut album!

 

Look @ Me

 

A very different musical entrance! Full of energy and strength! Excellent game of the voice of Irene! More melodic and with greater presence, listen to it fits perfectly when raising the musical scale, I like the final part!

 

Let it burn

 

A somewhat similar entrance to New Hero, melodic, a little less heavy than some previous songs and with a more catchy chorus! And those rocker riffs give a style to each track of the album and then a slight drum gallop to close!

 

 

The Pond

 

And to close this super debut album we have the song that gives it the name of the album, a slow start and later more powerful and forceful, without leaving aside another riff to gradually close this alternative musical day in contrast and sounds fresh with the beautiful voice of Irene!

 

My Recomendation

 

It is a musically well done album, with an alternative style of metal very well seated, the musical style can be compared with some exponents of this genre such as Linkin Park in its alternative facet, Evanescence, Chevelle and with Lacuna Coil (which is within this style combining gothic metal) just to mention a few and with the dark touch like Lacuna Coil at times and for the contrast between the riffs that we can hear, of course next to the drums for their sounds that are hard, with catchy choirs and song scales gradually become heavier as we go inside the album, each of the song stories darkens in a lot of meaning and that's excellent!

 

As Irene told me about the song The Noose;

 

The song was inspired by Steven Spielberg's "Friendship" movie. One of the most important scenes sees a slave who decides to hang himself to regain his freedom.

 

We want to transfer this concept to the present day: we are all slaves of our limits of life and mind. In this video, we represent people from different social classes and each of us, in front of a fortune teller and the hangman's card, becomes a slave in his mental prison to face his limits.

 

It is an excellent debut album in general, the production is perfect with a hard sound, if you add some even heavier metal in the following productions it would be phenomenal, a continuous album with a dark touch.

 

The Voice

​

Irene's voice is clear, clean with a light log, with sharp accents! and with a moderate low voice which we can hear at times, I love the combination of her voice the changes of rhythm and scales in some songs are mixed both, in some musical passages make her beautiful voice play more and in others they merge.

Break Me Down es una banda italiana de Alternative Metal de Milán, formada en 2017.

La energía y la belleza de nuestras canciones liberan una emoción poderosa que explota durante nuestras presentaciones en vivo. En septiembre de 2019, lanzaron el primer sencillo "Your Game" del nuevo disco "The Pond". ¡El nuevo LP salio el 17 de octubre de 2019 en todas las tiendas digitales!

Vamos a la Reseña!!

Your Game

 

Comenzamos con un sonido pesado y poco a poco se va haciendo la pista un poco más rápida,  riffs pesados junto a la batería contundente y con un sonido pegadizo desde el comienzo! La voz de Irene comienza abrirse paso y nos da una dosis de buen Metal alternativo que podemos escuchar desde esta primera pista.

 

If You're Brave

 

Unas guitarras fuertes y un sonido lento y melódico, la escala musical es perfecta para la voz de Irene melancólica y densa, otro buen Riff podemos escuchar por breves instantes con la correspondencia de la voz de Irene. 

 

The Noose

 

Esta canción es una carta de presentación del albúm, más pesada que las dos anteriores con potencia en los instrumentos y más en las guitarras! Más rítmica y pegadiza, la batería es genial! Me agrada la pesadez de The Noose!

 

Nightmare

 

Una entrada pesada! Una ametralladora en tempos entre las guitarras / batería, la voz de Irene se expande por momentos, una pesadilla musical como el nombre de la canción, una canción con mayor rudeza, las guitarras y batería forman por completo toda la fuerza!

 

Just Tonight

 

Entrada candente, fuerte sonido en esta pista, tempos lentos, mientras la parte musical es fuerte y agresiva, la bella voz de ella le da el contraste más emocional y sentimental.

 

O.C.D.

 

Curiosa entrada, esas cuerdas le dan un toque moderno y más conceptual, y en lo que sigue de la pista lo podemos escuchar, aquí escucho una pista más cargada de Rock!

 

New Hero

 

Una entrada explosiva y más rápida, me agrada la combinación de ritmos en esta canción por momentos agresivo y después si muy alternativo, sin deja a un lado la parte pesada y sin esos riffs que le dan más cuerpo a la canción.

 

Goodbye

 

Entramos con una pista llena de sentimiento, cargada de emociones, la voz de Irene se fusiona por momentos con los mismos cambios de ritmo y escalas, una canción en contexto melancólica, quizás esta es la balada de este gran albúm debut! 

 

Look @ Me

 

Una entrada musical muy diferente! Llena de energía y fuerza! Excelente juego de la voz de Irene! Más melódica y con mayor presencia, escúchenla se acopla perfectamente al elevar la escala musical, me agrada la parte final!

 

Let It Burn

 

Una entrada algo semejante quizás a New Hero, melódica, un poco menos pesada que algunas canciones anteriores y con un estribillo más pegadizo! Y esos riffs rockerones le dan un estilo a cada pista del albúm y después un ligero galope de batería para cerrar!

 

The Pond

 

Y para cerrar este súper albúm debut tenemos la canción que le da el nombre del albúm, un inicio lento y posteriormente más potente y contundente, sin dejar a un lado otro riff más para ir cerrando poco a poco esta jornada musical alternativa en contraste y sonidos frescos junto a la bella voz de Irene!

 

 

Mi Recomendación

 

Es un albúm musicalmente bien hecho, con un estilo de metal alternativo muy bien sentado, el estilo musical los podemos comparar con algunos exponentes de este género como Linkin Park en su faceta alternativa, Evanescence, Chevelle y con Lacuna Coil (que está dentro de este estilo combinando metal gótico) solo por mencionar algunos y con el toque oscuro como el de Lacuna Coil por momentos y por el contraste entre los riffs que podemos escuchar, por supuesto junto a la batería por sus sonidos que son duros, con coros pegadizos y las escalas de las canciones poco a poco se vuelven más pesados conforme avanzamos dentro del álbum, cada una de las historias de las canciones se oscurecen en mucho significado y eso es excelente!

 

Tal como me lo comento Irene sobre la canción The Noose;

 

La canción fue inspirada por la película "Amistad" de Steven Spielberg. Una de las escenas más importantes ve a un esclavo que decide ahorcarse para recuperar su libertad.

 

Queremos transferir este concepto hasta nuestros días: todos somos esclavos de nuestros límites de vida y mente. En este video, representamos a personas de diferentes clases sociales y cada uno de nosotros, frente a un adivino y la tarjeta del ahorcado, se convierte en un esclavo en su prisión mental para enfrentar sus límites.

 

Es un excelente albúm debut en general, la producción es perfecta con un sonido duro, si le agregan un poco de metal aún más pesado en las siguientes producciones seria fenomenal, un albúm continuo y con un toque oscuro.

 

La Voz

​

La voz de Irene es clara, limpia con un registro ligero, con agudos acentuados! y graves limitados, el cual podemos escuchar por momentos, me encanta la combinación de su voz los cambios de ritmo y escalas en algunas canciones se mezclan ambas, en algunos pasajes musicales hacen que tenga más rol la bella voz de ella y en otros se fusionan.
