Astralium (Italian Symphonic metal band), called Black Roses before changing the name, was born in 2014 thanks to the soprano Roberta Pappalardo and the bass man Giuseppe Pappalardo.  After many changes, the first line-up establishes with Emanuele Alessandro on the guitar and Corrado Geniale (ex-Tamed Darts) on the drums. Between 2014 and 2016 Astralium, with this line-up, takes part to various Heavy Metal local festivals and all around Italy. The first was the Steel Legion Fest with Steel Raiser and several other bands. Astralium is successful and receives good live report/reviews from the Heavy Metal webzine, with the beautiful and eclectic voice of Roberta. In the summer 2017 Corrado Geniale leaves the band for personal reasons and the band welcomes Salvo Grasso (Hypersonic, Metatrone, ex-Denied).

Remembrance

 

Beautiful overture totally atmospheric, with an intense exquisite orchestral load! What background choirs! Excelsa entry!

 

The Journey

 

And we enter with strength and power! Totally a play in your ears! Strong and strong drums, guitars in the company of the clear and clean voice of Roberta! In unison of this beautiful musical track with excellent melodic and very harmonic symphonic sequences! By the way, Roberta's falsette!

 

Rising Waves From The Ocean

 

And we continue fast and strong! I love that theatrical cut of this second track, much more rhythmic and harmonious, with greater speed! A pretty cool symphonic metal! Fast times but with perfect chords, excellent drums!

 

My Life Is My Eternity

 

Atmospheric entrance more sublime and with greater drama! Entering with perfect guitars in a single heavy and continuous sound, union of both voices with a theatrical cut that later the beautiful voice of Roberta completely dominates. Those heavy Riffs give the necessary rudeness to this track, especially the musical instrument that makes presence in this song perhaps a sound like clavichord?

 

Whisper In The Silence

 

Beautiful entrance with strength, presence and heavy! The theatrical cut gives greater emphasis to each very special song, the voices of both give a sway of emotions that are reflected in each note that they release with all their splendor! A track with a more moderate pace and speed unlike the previous ones.

 

Hope is gone

 

Entrance with enough force that later one becomes with the voice of Roberta accompanied by sublime softer notes that suddenly give us an emotional and cozy blow, a little slower this song and where we can enjoy even more the beautiful voice of her.

 

Breath Of My Soul

 

Beautiful piano input, sublime and relaxed song, the voice of Roberta can be heard in an excellent context in the company of a strong sound but with a very soft style and with a high combination of nuances with romantic style.

 

To Dream's Elegy

 

We enter with a more epic sound! Full of orchestrations and with an orchestral style! Strong, vibrant and fast! The background choirs are perfect, very catchy this song, rhythmic, melodic and with greater load when singing! Excellent records and symphonic tempos when joining some chords as I said strong and with a lot of presence!

 

Seven Seas, Seven Winds

 

Power / Symphonic Metal is here in this music entry? Yes and indeed! A powerful and environmental entrance, to then enter with a good combination of clean and guttural voices that contrast each one in this opera-style musical work! Well with the tempo changes! Each musical movement is very complex musically speaking but they fit very well.

 

Ethereal Voices From The Forest

 

A very amazing sound and ethereal entrance! In the company of the beautiful voice of Roberta with an extension of her vocal record very beautiful! Amazing this totally atmospheric song! Totally vintage this musical track! Time of Gladiators!

 

The World Of Unknown

 

The continuation for me of the last track, but with the heavy input of guitars / drums marking time and strength! Harmonic, slow and deep rhythm, Roberta's voice contrasts and stands out on every track! There are well-combined tempo changes just like the loud and hers' voices.

 

Hidden Conspiracy

 

Excellent closure! Sublime and soft at the beginning but then powerful and strong! The voice of him begins the musical dance and open the way for the powerful soprano voice of Roberta! And so continuously both voices make their way to each other, excellent duo, ending with a rhythmic / melodic symphonic riff with that orchestral nuance and ending abruptly!

 

My Recomendation

 

An interesting album where we find the undeniable influence of other singers and groups within the symphonic metal, let's see what the band says:

“First of all, we want to say that we are very excited about our debut album Land Of Eternal Dreams. Fans can expect an incredible album of great melodies, mixed with cinematic, symphonic and classical music, along with metal guitar riffs and epic choirs. We believe that music evokes sensations, emotions and real fantastic worlds in our minds. "

 

Now all together is a album full of very cinematic operatic / theatrical orchestrations as described in the entire classical / symphonic context, The style and sound is very well worked at all points from production to orchestral arrangements, it has very fast tracks ! In most of the album, the Choirs are a key point to the entire composition of the album, the vocals play an important role at all times, the guitars and drums in combination of strong / bass notes give the heavy touch next to the voice of Guiseppe, which makes Roberta's voice stand out or boost more.

 

Some of the songs take us to earth with epic and fantasy as they describe it, a very Power Metal / Symphonic / Opera style, with a bit of Progressive Metal influences with musical changes coupled to the chords we hear and especially melodic, very melodic, sometimes at the entrance each track has aggressive and heavy moments and in others for the final part. The album also features special guests Tommy Johansson (Sabaton, Majestica), Jo Lombardo (Ancestral, ex-Metatrone), Andrea Martongelli (Arthemis), Stefano "Ghigas" Calvagno (Metatrone, NefeshCore), Adam Cook (A Hill To Die Upon) , Davide Bruno (Metatrone, NefeshCore) and others.

 

The Voice

 

Roberta's voice is clean, clear, accurate and with an excellent record, she just knows when to raise her scale according to the musical changes within each song! The musical note and rhythm are guided by her voice, not the opposite as some other bands of this style, that is good and unique, not all bands manage to do it, besides the inclusion of successive songs with the male voice gives better contrasts in clear and clean or guttural moments. The excellent soprano voice is marvelously combined with the musical part, where the symphonic part has an excellent game with the voice of Roberta.

Bio Oficial

 

Astralium (banda italiana de metal sinfónico), llamada Black Roses antes de cambiar el nombre, nació en 2014 gracias a la soprano Roberta Pappalardo y al bajista Giuseppe Pappalardo. Después de muchos cambios, la primera formación se establece con Emanuele Alessandro en la guitarra y Corrado Geniale (ex-Tamed Darts) en la batería. Entre 2014 y 2016, Astralium, con esta alineación, participa en varios festivales locales de Heavy Metal y en toda Italia. El primero fue el Steel Legion Fest con Steel Raiser y varias otras bandas. Astralium tiene éxito y recibe buenos informes / reseñas en vivo de la webzine de Heavy Metal, con la bella y ecléctica voz de Roberta. En el verano de 2017, Corrado Geniale deja la banda por razones personales y la banda le da la bienvenida a Salvo Grasso (Hypersonic, Metatrone, ex-Denied).

Bella obertura totalmente atmosférica, con una intensa carga orquestal exquisita! Que Coros de fondo! Excelsa entrada!

 

The Journey

 

Y entramos con fuerza y potencia! Totalmente una obra teatral en tus oídos! Batería contundente y fuerte, guitarras en compañía de la voz clara y limpia de Roberta! Al unísono de esta bella pista musical con excelentes secuencias sinfónicas melódicas y muy armónicas! Por cierto que falsette de Roberta!

 

Rising Waves From The Ocean

 

Y seguimos rápidos y fuertes! Me encanta ese corte teatral de este segunda pista, mucho más rítmica y armoniosa, con mayor velocidad! Un metal sinfónico bastante fresco! Tempos rápidos pero con acordes perfectos, excelente batería!

 

My Life Is My Eternity

 

Entrada atmosférica más sublime y con mayor drama! Entrando con guitarras perfectas en un solo sonido pesado y continuo, unión de ambas voces con un corte teatral que posteriormente la bella voz de Roberta domina por completo! Esos Riffs pesados le dan la rudeza necesaria a esta pista, sobre todo el instrumento musical que hace presencia en esta canción acaso un tipo  como clavicordio?

 

Whisper In The Silence

 

Bella entrada con fuerza, presencia y pesada! El corte teatral le da mayor énfasis a cada canción muy especial, las voces de ambos le dan un vaivén de emociones que se plasman en cada nota que lanzan con todo su esplendor! Una pista con un ritmo y velocidad más moderada a diferencia de las anteriores.

 

Hope Is Gone

 

Entrada con bastante fuerza que posteriormente se hace una con la voz de Roberta acompañada de sublimes notas más suaves que de pronto nos dan un golpe emocional y acogedora, un poco más lenta esta canción y donde podemos disfrutar aún más la hermosa voz de ella.

 

Breath Of My Soul

 

Bella entrada de piano, sublime y relajada canción, la voz de Roberta la podemos escuchar en un excelente contexto en compañía de un sonido fuerte pero con un estilo muy suave y con una alta combinación de matices con estilo romántico.

 

A Dream's Elegy

 

Entramos con un sonido más épico! Lleno de orquestaciones y con un estilo orquestal! Fuerte, vibrante y veloz! Los coros de fondo son perfectos, muy pegadiza esta canción, rítmica, melódica y con mayor carga al cantar! Excelentes registros y tempos sinfónicos al juntarse a unos acordes como dije fuertes y con mucha presencia!

 

Seven Seas, Seven Winds

 

Power/ Symphonic Metal se encuentra aquí en esta entrada? Si y de hecho! Una entrada potente y ambiental, para después entrar con una buena combinación de voces limpias y guturales que contrastan cada una en esta obra musical al estilo operístico! bien con los cambios de tempo! Cada movimiento musical es muy complejo musicalmente hablando pero les quedo muy bien.

Un sonido y entrada etérea muy alucinante! En la compañía de la bella voz de Roberta con una extensión de su registro vocal muy bello! Alucinante esta canción totalmente atmosférica! Totalmente de época esta pista musical! Época de Gladiadores! 

 

The World Of Unknown

 

La continuación para mí de la pista pasada, pero ya con la entrada pesada de guitarras/batería marcando el tiempo y fuerza! Armónica, ritmo lento y profundo, la voz de Roberta contrasta y resalta bastante en cada pista! Hay cambios de tempo bien combinados al igual de las voces fuertes y la de ella.

 

Hidden Conspiracy

 

Excelente cierre! Sublime y suave al inicio pero después potente y fuerte! La voz de  el comienza la danza musical y le abre camino a la potente voz de soprano alto de Roberta! Y así continuamente ambas voces se abren paso el uno al otro, excelente dúo, terminando con un riff sinfónico rítmico/melódico con ese matiz orquestal y que termina abruptamente!

 

Mi Recomendación

 

Un albúm interesante donde encontramos la influencia innegable de otros cantantes y grupos dentro del metal sinfónico, veamos que dice la banda:

 

La banda describe este lanzamiento de la siguiente manera:

 

“Antes que nada, queremos decir que estamos muy entusiasmados con nuestro álbum debut Land Of Eternal Dreams. Los fanáticos pueden esperar un increíble álbum de grandes melodías, mezclado con música cinematográfica, sinfónica y clásica, junto con riffs de guitarra de metal y coros épicos. Creemos que la música evoca sensaciones, emociones y mundos fantásticos reales en nuestras mentes".

 

Ahora todo en conjunto es un albúm lleno de orquestaciones operísticas/teatrales muy cinematográfico tal como lo describen en todo el contexto clásico/sinfónico, El estilo y sonido está muy bien trabajado en todo punto desde la producción hasta los arreglos orquestales, tiene pistas muy rápidas! En la mayor parte del albúm, los Coros son punto clave a toda la composición del albúm, las voces juegan un papel importante en todo momento, las guitarras y batería en combinación de notas fuertes/graves le dan el toque pesado junto a la voz de Guiseppe, el cual hacen bastante resaltar o impulsar más la voz de Roberta.

 

Algunas de las canciones nos llevan a la tierra con épica y fantasía tal como lo describen, un estilo muy Power Metal/Sinfónico/Operístico, y con un poco de influencias de Metal Progresivo con cambios musicales acoplados a los acordes que escuchamos y sobre todo melódico, muy melódico, a veces en la entrada de cada pista tiene momentos agresivos y pesados y en otras para la parte final. El álbum también presenta invitados especiales Tommy Johansson (Sabaton, Majestica), Jo Lombardo (Ancestral, ex-Metatrone), Andrea Martongelli (Arthemis), Stefano "Ghigas" Calvagno (Metatrone, NefeshCore), Adam Cook (A Hill To Die Upon) , Davide Bruno (Metatrone, NefeshCore) y otros.

 

La Voz

 

La voz de Roberta es limpia, clara, exacta y con un registro excelente, justamente sabe cuándo elevar su escala de acuerdo a los cambios musicales dentro de cada canción! La nota y ritmo musical van guiadas por la voz de ella, no al contrario como algunas otras bandas de este estilo, eso es bueno y único no todas las bandas lo logran hacer, además la inclusión cantos sucesivos con la voz masculina da mejores contrastes en momentos claros y limpios o guturales. La excelente voz soprano se combina maravillosamente con la parte musical, donde la parte sinfónica tiene un excelente juego con la voz de Roberta.
