On November 09, 2018, the band released a new single "Skeletons" from their upcoming album Unbreakable, which was launched at the beginning of 2019. In early February 2019, Costello states that 'Unbreakable’s sound will be significantly heavier than Malevolence, and thematically, will focus more on empowerment, and less on negativity and self-pity of past albums. On March 1, 2019, the band released the second single from the album, "Shut Up". The song peaked at number 17 on the Mainstream Rock Charts in May 2019. A third single, "Come For Me", was released on April 5, 2019. Unbreakable officially debuted April 26, 2019.

Come For Me

​

Brutal and powerful entry! More the fury with which the beautiful Ashley sings! That chorus is powerful and super heavy! What Guitars and Drums! Powerful! Opening the album with the last single, a style of Industrial Metal type quite loaded.

MissUnderstood

​

A handling of slower and denser sounds, without losing the heaviness of the song, I like the combination of voices that Ashley makes, shouts and between pauses clearer and cleaner, just as powerful this track! Sounds type R & B that later with the amazing voices of Costello, and explosive rhythms with very powerful guitars!

Skeletons

​

What a strong entry, the first single of this album! But with a fairly subtle piano and the clean voice of Ashley! Rhythmic and melodic as the song progresses, strong and heavy this track good handling and combination of heavy sounds with the voice of Ashley! Riffs with metalcore style and a very catchy chorus.

Unbreakable

​

A very smooth entry with the clean voice of Ashley and then a strong and explosive handling of drums / guitars, with quieter pauses where the voice is heard very clearly, wonderful work. An industrial Rock well managed without problems.

Shut Up

​

More atmospheric entry combining voice and melodic song, then a powerful entry! And return to the melodic and clean part in voice, without losing the strength and power of the song, make good combinations in sound and voice this song! An electronic part very well shown, there are not many musical explosions but just when he says "don´t tell me what I want, shut up and give it to me!" that part is brutal!

​

It improves this entry! Low sound at the beginning and later explosive! Along with those refrains that in all the songs I listen to drums next to the guitar and electronic combined! A little more melancholic and with a modern touch as well as avant-garde. But with a great compilation of sounds.

Poltergeist

​

A chilling entrance! With chimes, keyboards and a slow melody give it a mysterious touch. An atmospheric part in this song is heard more the beautiful voice of Ashley, a song melodic, rhythmic and slower, but with explosive parts.

Break My Body

​

Melodic from the beginning of the song and with more catchy rhythm! Heavy and rough the song, break my ears Ashley! It has a small Nu Metal style and that's perfect! Passionate voices that will set you in motion with a known style, live with the horns up!

Sorry Not Sorry

​

Powerful entrance! Strong! The voice of Ashley makes beautiful game combining guitars and mega heavy battery! It envelops us in a dystopian environment with industrial rock with euphoric chorus!

My Monsters

​

Melodic, clean voice combining very strong and powerful riffs, a more rhythmic track and with longer exposure in voice of Ashley! A song which says 'I'm stronger than my monsters' here I think it's the ballad with the slowest beat.

​

Nocturnal

​

What a difference of entry! Strong and heartbreaking with that powerful scream from Ashley! Quicker this song, rhythmic but without losing the strength that characterizes the album! I like that cry of strength!

I Survived

​

And ending with a powerful and powerful entrance, a very melodic track! Strong without doubt and without leaving aside the voice with power Ahsley and with echoes a little more catchy! That chorus comes back closing the final part of the album!

My Recommendation

​

It is a good work done by Ashley Costello, after the last album Malevolence which in comparison to this, this album of 2019 is harder and heavier! Combining sounds of Rock-Industrial, Metalcore and because not a bit of Nu Metal, because I say it because it includes the combination of producers Mitch Marlow (All That Remains, In This Moment) and Scott Stevens (Halestorm, Shinedown) each working with Ashley Costello, to embody the most brutal personality and style transmitted by the band Ashley Costello or NYD. Undoubtedly, this is the strongest and most complete album of New Years Day so far, an excellent work that will do wonders in his future career !.

The Voice

​

It’s curious the beloved voice of Ashley Costello! It has a range and record with a sharp enough, but it makes perfect balance with a well-executed production of stronger and bass guitars / bass highlighting its voice scale even more, the whole album its power in voice remains adjusted to the style and musical time, that makes you never take the attention away from Ashley's voice and that's just what she wants! Excellent!

El 9 de noviembre de 2018, la banda lanzó un nuevo single "Skeletons" de su próximo álbum Unbreakable, que se lanzó a principios de 2019. A principios de febrero de 2019, Costello afirma que el sonido de 'Unbreakable será significativamente más pesado que Malevolence, y temáticamente se centrará más en el empoderamiento, y menos en la negatividad y la autocompasión de álbumes anteriores. El 1 de marzo de 2019, la banda lanzó el segundo sencillo del álbum, "Shut Up". La canción alcanzó su punto máximo en el número 17 en las listas de rock principales en mayo de 2019.  Un tercer single, "Come For Me", fue lanzado el 5 de abril de 2019. Unbreakable debutó oficialmente el 26 de abril de 2019.

​

Entrada brutal y potente! Más la furia con la que canta la hermosa Ashley! Ese estribillo es poderoso y súper pesado! Que Guitarras y Batería! Poderosas! Abriendo el álbum con el último single, un estilo de tipo Metal Industrial bastante cargado.

MissUnderstood

​

Un manejo de sonidos más lentos y densos, sin perder la pesadez de la canción, me gusta la combinación de voces que hace Ashley, gritos y entre pausas más clara y limpia, igual de potente este track! Sonidos tipo R&B que posteriormente con las asombrosas voces de Costello, y ritmos explosivos con guitarras muy potentes!

Skeletons

​

Qué entrada tan fuerte, el primer sencillo de este álbum! Pero con un piano bastante sutil y la voz limpia de Ashley! Rítmica y melódica conforme avanza la canción, fuerte y pesada este track buen manejo y combinación de sonidos pesados junto a la voz de Ashley! Riffs con estilo de metalcore al y un coro muy pegadizo.

Unbreakable

​

Una entrada muy suave con la voz limpia de Ashley y posteriormente un manejo fuerte y explosivo de batería/guitarras, con pausas más tranquilas donde se escucha muy claramente la voz, maravilloso trabajo. Un Rock industrial bien manejado sin problemas.

​

Shut Up

​

Entrada más atmosférica combinando voz y melódica la canción, posteriormente una entrada potente! Y vuelve a la parte melódica y limpia en voz, sin perder la fuerza y potencia de la canción, hace buenas combinaciones en sonido y voz esta canción! Una parte electrónica muy bien mostrada,  no hay muchas explosiones musicales pero justo cuando dice "no me digas lo que quiero, ¡cállate y dámelo!" es brutal esa parte!

Done With You

​

Mejora bastante esta entrada! Bajo sonido al inicio y posteriormente explosiva! Junto a esos estribillos que en todas las canciones escucho de batería junto a la guitarra y electrónica combinada! Un poco más melancólica y con un toque moderno al igual que vanguardista. Pero con una gran compilación de sonidos.

 

Poltergeist

​

Una entrada escalofriante! Con campanadas, teclados y una melodía lenta le dan un toque misterioso. Una parte atmosférica en esta canción se escucha más la bella voz de Ashley, una canción melódica, rítmica y más lenta, pero con partes explosivas.

​

Break My Body

​

Melódica desde el inicio de la canción y con mayor ritmo pegadizo! Pesada y ruda la canción, rompe mis oídos Ashley! Tiene un pequeño estilo Nu Metal y eso está perfecto! Voces apasionadas que te pondrá en movimiento con un estilo conocido, en vivo con los cuernos arriba!

Sorry Not Sorry

​

Entrada poderosa! Fuerte! La voz de Ashley hace bello juego combinando guitarras y batería mega pesada! Nos envuelve en un ambiente distópico con rock industrial con coro eufórico!

​

My Monsters

​

Melódica, voz limpia combinando riffs muy contundentes y potentes, una pista más rítmica y con mayor tiempo de exposición en voz de Ashley! Una canción el cual dice ‘soy más fuerte que mis monstruos’ aquí creo es la balada con ritmo más lento.

​

Nocturnal

​

Que diferencia de entrada! Fuerte y desgarradora con ese grito potente de Ashley! Más rápida esta canción, rítmica pero sin perder la fuerza que caracteriza al álbum! Me gusta ese grito de fuerza!

​

I Survived

​

Y finalizando con una entrada potente y con mucha fuerza, una pista muy melódica! Fuerte sin duda y sin dejar de lado la voz con potencia de Ahsley y con ecos un poco más pegadizos! Ese estribillo vuelve cerrando fuerte la parte final del álbum!

My Recomendación

​

Es un buen trabajo realizado por Ashley Costello, después del pasado álbum Malevolence el cual en comparación a este, este álbum del 2019 es más duro y pesado! Combinando sonidos de Rock-Industrial, Metalcore y porque no un poco de Nu Metal, porque lo digo porque incluye la combinación de los productores Mitch Marlow (All That Remains, In This Moment) y Scott Stevens (Halestorm, Shinedown) cada uno trabajando con Ashley Costello, para encarnar la personalidad más brutal y el estilo transmitido por la banda de Ashley Costello o NYD. Sin lugar a dudas, este es el álbum más fuerte y completo de New Years Day hasta ahora, un excelente trabajo que hará maravillas en su futura trayectoria!.

La Voz

​

Es curiosa la voz querida voz de Ashley Costello! Tiene un rango y registro con un agudo bastante marcado, pero hace perfecto balance con una producción bien ejecutada de unas guitarras/batería más fuertes y graves resaltando aún más su escala de voz, todo el álbum su potencia en voz se mantiene ajustada al estilo y tiempo musical, eso hace que nunca le quites la atención a la voz de Ashley y eso es justo lo que ella quiere! Excelente!
