Biography of the band

Misteyes band started in year 2012 with a line-up of 5 people. A year later their first single 'Brains in a vat' was released and its sound is melodic Black/Death metal.

In year 2015 the musical evolution had come to an essential point and they decided to make a full length album. That was a long and complex work and they were very busy with the composition, arrangements and recording of the album. Also was a revolution within the band and the visual appearance of their shows.

Let’s go to the review!

1º The last knell (Intro)

A very interesting intro, mysterious and dark! The crying child is heartbreaking

2º Creeping Time

Great guitars, very heavy and strong! The voice is powerful. The mix of guttural and soft voice of the singer is great. It's a slow song but very strong! I like the changes in the time and its sounds. The piano gives body to the song.

3º Brains in a vat

A Song with a faster start, with a musical structure very interesting. With a good work with choruses and guttural voices. This song has more time of extension in voices and a dark atmosphere. This is a great start to the album.

4º Inside the golden cage

A song with a lighter start and very melodic. The pauses are interesting with notable changes. The rhythm of the song also changes. The voice of the singer it keeps light and high-pitched, just like the guttural voice of the man.

5º Lady Loneliness

wow! A very different start with this song. It sounds very nice with the piano on the instrumental part. You can feel every feeling with the lyric and theme of the song.

A very light, soft and beautiful voice, you can see the vocal skill in combination with the song. The guttural mix is an excellent plus.

6º The Prey

A very good atmospheric start! Fast and powerful. The high-pitched voice of the singer is higher! The song is strong and melodic. I like these changes.

7º Destroy your past

It have a good start, just like the other songs and with a similar style.

The same forcefulness. The voices and the sounds are steady.

8º The Demon of fear

A stronger and heavier song! i like! A dark and deep part mixed with the soft and heartbreaking voice of the singer.

9º A Fragile Balance (Awake The Beast – Part 1)

The start of this song is darker and evil one. I like the atmospheric part of this song, the chorus is stronger and mysterious.

10º Chaos (Awake The Beast – Part 2)

Heavy guitars and strong drums! A lot of speed in the music track and the guttural voice at its best. This second part is good!

11º Decapited Rose

Forcefulness and heaviness in this song, a new voice joins to Edoardo and Denise.

Bjorn 'Speed' Strid from Soilwork. It's a good combination of voices and sounds.

12º Winter’s Judgment

This ending is very atmospheric and instrumental. It has more dramatism this central part of the composition. It started with orchestration of noble and atmospherics sounds, and suddenly it shifts to the force and brutal darkness. All this with the beautiful voice of Denise and the violin from another guest, Nicole Ansperger from Eluveitie.

My Recommendation:

This is an album with heavy songs, melodics and with classic sounds. The voice is pretty Death and Black metal but mixed with Goth. Quite Dark. This is what captures the listener. This is a continuous album and each song is a mix of style and gives variety. Operatic sounds and symphonic, the more surprising is there isn't notable jumps among the songs. The styles complement each other. There are combinations and pauses among the songs, everything flows. Although there are songs with similar sounds but still is a great album!

The good:

It is very strong and has musical forcefulness, great technique and good guests like Nicole Ansperger from Eluveitie.

The bad:

There is nothing wrong, just the similarity in some songs.

Originality and creativity:

A good mix of metal with Orchestral Gothic elements. They called it 'Light and Dark Metal'. All songs were composed and arranged by Misteyes.

The album was recorded at Alarm Studio on Turin (Italy) The Cover of the album was made by Alessandro Alimonti (Design Overload) and is very mysterious and goes according with the lyrics.

Voices:

They are very similar in some tracks but they combine very well.

I really like Denise's voice. It is very soft and high-pitched and adapts to the music.

The guttural male voice also adapts to the musical part.

Biografía de la banda

Nuestro camino como Misteyes band se inició en 2012 con una de cinco miembros alineación, con la que, un año después, se lanzaron su primer sencillo "Brains in A Vat" que se caracteriza por un sonido melódico de Black/ Death Metal

En 2015 la evolución musical llegó a un punto fundamental y decidieron resumir todo esto con un álbum de larga duración. Fue un trabajo largo y complejo, que los mantuvo ocupados, no sólo para componer, arreglar y grabar un álbum completo, pero también fue una revolución dentro de la imagen de la banda y el aspecto visual de sus espectáculos.

Vamos a la Reseña

01 The Last Knell (Intro)

Un intro muy interesante, misterioso y oscuro, el llanto del infante lo hace un poco mas desgarrador!

02 Creeping Time

Excelentes guitarras, muy pesadas y contundentes! La voz es poderosa, la voz gutural en combinación de la suave voz de la cantante! Lenta la canción pero muy fuerte! Agradable los cambios en tiempo y los sonidos que maneja, el piano le da mucho cuerpo a la canción

03 Brains in a Vat

Una canción más rápida al inicio, con una estructura musical interesante, manejo de voces en coros y guturales buenos! Hay más tiempo de extensión en voces, bastante atmosfera oscura! Eso le da una excelente entrada al álbum

04 Inside The Golden Cage

Una entrada más ligera y melódica! Las pausas son interesantes, los cambios son notables entre cada pausa, eso varia el ritmo de la canción, la voz de la cantante se mantiene ligera y aguda, parecida a la voz gutural masculina.

05 Lady Loneliness

Wow! Toda una entrada totalmente diferente! Agradable en compañía de ese piano en la parte instrumental, se puede sentir el sentimiento con el que trasmite la lírica y tema de la canción, una voz muy hermosa, ligera y suave, podemos apreciar la habilidad vocal en combinación de la canción, y la combinación gutural le da un plus excelente!

06 The Prey

Una entrada atmosférica muy buena! Rápida y potente, aunque de repente la voz de la cantante se agudiza un poco más, melódica y fuerte toda la pista, me agradan esos cambios musicales!

07 Destroy Your Past

Tiene muy buena entrada como en las canciones anteriores, manteniendo el estilo parecido a otros tracks, con la misma fuerza y contundencia, el manejo de voces y sonidos se mantiene muy firme!

08 The Demon of Fear

Una canción más fuerte y pesada! Me gusta! Una parte oscura y grave combinando la voz suave y desgarradora de la vocal en esta pista!

09 A Fragile Balance (Awake The Beast-Part 1)

Entrada muy fúnebre, oscura y maligna! Me agrada la parte atmosférica de esta canción, las voces corales le dan una entrada más fuerte y misteriosa

10 Chaos (Awake The Beast Part 2)

Pesadas guitarras y batería muy fuerte, velocidad en la pista con la voz gutural en su punto álgido! La parte dos es genial!

11 Decapitated Rose

Contundencia y pesadez en esta canción, una nueva voz se une al dueto de Edoardo y Denise, Björn "Speed" Strid de Soilwork, buena combinación de voces y sonidos.

12 Winter's Judgment

Final muy atmosférico é instrumental, mayor dramatismo a la parte central de una composición que inicia con orquestación de sonidos nobles y atmosféricos y que pronto cambia rítmicamente hacia la fuerza y oscuridad brutal! Combinando la bella voz de Denise! Y con el violín de otro invitado, Nicole Ansperger de Eluveitie.

Mi Recomendación

Es un álbum con unas pistas pesadas, melódicas, y a la vez con sonidos clásicos, Death/ Black en voz pero con una mezcla Goth bastante oscura, y eso es lo que captura al escucha! Es un álbum continuo y cada canción es una mezcla de estilo para que pueda obtener una variedad en cada pista, con corte operístico y posteriormente más sinfónico, lo más sorprendente es que no hay saltos muy notables entre canciones se unen y se entrecorta un estilo a otro, entre las mismas canciones hay pausas y combinaciones musicales interesantes, todo fluye, aunque se hace un poco similar algunas canciones con otras, pero es un álbum bastante bueno é interesante

Lo Bueno

Tiene bastante fuerza y contundencia musical, técnica apreciable y con invitados geniales como Nicole Ansperger de Eluveitie!

Lo Malo

Nada mal el álbum! Salvo la similitud en algunas pistas

Originalidad y Creatividad

Una fuerte mezcla Metalera con elementos góticos orquestales. El cual ellos lo llaman Light and Dark Metal. Todas las canciones fueron compuestas y arregladas por Misteyes. El disco fue grabado en los Alarm Studio en Turin (Italia), y La caratula fue diseñada por Alessandro Alimonti (Design Overload), la cual es misteriosa y va de acuerdo a la lírica del álbum

Voces

La voces se mantiene muy semejantes en algunas pistas, y se llegan a combinar muy bien, la voz de Denise agrada mucho, muy suave y aguda la cual se adapta a la música y voz masculina gutural expuesta, se mantiene acorde a la parte musical

Puntuación
