Biography

Fantasy symphonic metal band from Sofia (BG). The band was founded by Vinnie Atanasov in 2008, The last years BENDIDA’s capture the audience attention by regular concerts and in the result popularity of the band keeps growing.

BENDIDA create unique magical sound combining with metal, classical and folk elements. the atmosphere of their sound is completed with ancient baroque instrument - viola da gamba The lyrical themes in the band's music are in the sphere of mythology, fantasy and fiction.

Bendida interprets mythology from the ancient myths and legends – Sumer, Slavic, Thracian and others. The band draws inspiration mainly from classical music, metal music and folklore.

Besides the traditional rock music instruments, the band also includes violin, flute, French horn and viola da gamba, which sound has been part of Bendida's appearance for several years. The epic sound of the songs includes choir parts, orchestrations, flutes and a string section. In the music is included the traditional Bulgarian instrument tambura, which adds the characteristic folklore shots to the music of Bendida. First EP of the band was released at the beginning of 2012. It was called "The Farthest Shore"

The Band shares the stage with the bands NIGHTWISH, Apocalyptica, Kamelot and etc. In the beggining of 2020 the band release their second album called “The First of the heroes”. A guest musicain in the album is Janika Gross –singer of Haggard and Molllust, She sing in the song Vampires’ Ball. Over the last years BENDIDA captured the audience’s attention by regular concerts and as an result, the popularity of the Bulgarian FANTASY METAL formation keeps growing.

BENDIDA creates an unique magical sound - the base is Metal, enhanced by Classical and Folk elements. The atmosphere of BENDIDA’s sound gets completed with an ancient Baroque instrument - Viola da gamba.

A rather atmospheric, epic overture and deep choruses, symphonic, mythological instrumental. Backed up by deep arrangements of drums in the background to a martial beat.

The Legend of Gilgamesh

Opening with vocal registers and soft choruses with rhythm and rhythm in the voices, there are very well combined gutturals and increasing the speed with a speed metal present and giving space to the voices at all times.

Hunt the Hunter*

Excellent opening with register and movement in presto perhaps, that violin sounds great! Unobtrusive measure and rhythm, string musical elements and soft, clean and guttural combined voices give it a symphonic and operatic epic!

Vampires’ Ball

An entry in a style of the 4 seasons of Vivaldi certainly! Discreet percussions, continuous drums and the power in the voices is impressive, clear or throaty, progressive symphonic movements throughout the track well done!

Desolated Sea

Stronger and stronger percussion and violin from the start, then Kremena's beautiful and symphonic voice carries all the movement in orchestral and instrumental form! And the male choral part in Spanish! They made a good vocal contrast for sure.

Music of the Spheres

Kremena's angelic and operatic voice gives it a first-rate cinematic and theatrical setting! The musical track with voices in chorus and accompanied by a discreet, sensitive and melancholic chord, the thick and brief riffs give it forcefulness.

The Fern Flower

A storm of chords in presto and allegro most likely give us a rich opening in these movements between sharp and fast riffs, which later we are assaulted by the beautiful voice of Kremena, reborn together with each note that it presents to us.

Lady of Eternal Winter

A darker sound presents us in this track, with strong notes and with a more accentuated rhythm, a more melodic song accompanied by a more fluid chord with varied speed especially in a movement.

A completely atmospheric opening and full of brief vocal inspiration in rapt acoustic couplets.

This is the crucial and unique part! Perfect instrumental harmony and metal chords with riffs with an exquisite Power / Speed Metal full of galloping rhythms.

Middle Ages

We continue with this excellent movement! In chords and riffs, in the violin company alongside Kremena's operatic voice, a single note in the register is dominant here.

Apogee*

Next movement in perhaps presto, accompanied by violin chords and perfect guitars! Brief but gives a beautiful atmosphere!

Demolition

Smooth and brutal movement! Stronger and stronger riffs, faster speed! Galloping speed with a good dark throaty.

My Recomendation

A majestic and operatic album! Opera Metal would be the best concept and classification of the new album by Bendida! Because it is full of Symphonic Movements that stand out like in the song Beast and Man where the movement is with high notes, the violin plays a great role and is a reference to the symphonic works composed by Vivaldi and especially in the last song History of the World! Where we find in Apogee the elements of the Ronde 5 by Tielman Susato and the Brandenburg Concerto n. 3 in G major by Johann Sebastian Bach as they mention.

They have compas, melody, folk, elements of power metal with an orchestral cut and style, a bit of progressive elements in the rhythm changes in several of the songs, for lovers of Opera / Symphonic Metal this is an album full of fantasy and melody! There is a very remarkable influence of orchestral elements from excellent Italian bands.

The Voice

Kremena registration and stamp extremely important here! A clean, smooth voice with a beautiful vibrato that is combined with the scales and chords of the percussion instruments, her voice also carries all the rhythm and time signature in each song and the guttural elements give it the dark and strong part.

Una obertura bastante atmosférica, épica y coros profundos, instrumental sinfónico, mitológica. Apuntalados por arreglos profundos de tambores de fondo a ritmo marcial.

Una apertura clásica, a ritmo lento y de movimiento largo, las voces hacen toda la presencia y cuerpo de la canción, ellas llevan el compás y ritmo, buena percusión y dinámica de la batería.

Beast and Man (the mage)*

Una entrada con un estilo de las 4 estaciones de Vivaldi sin duda! Percusiones discretas, batería continua y la potencia en las voces es impresionante, claras o guturales, movimientos sinfónico progresivos a lo largo de la pista bien hechos!

Desolated Sea

Una percusión y violín más contundente y fuerte desde el inicio, después la bella y sinfónica voz de Kremena conlleva todo el movimiento en forma orquestal e instrumental! Y la parte coral masculina en español! Hicieron un buen contraste vocal sin duda.

Music of the Spheres

La voz angelical y operística de Kremena le da una ambientación cinematográfica y teatral de primer nivel! La pista musical con voces en coro y acompañado de un acorde discreto, sensible y melancólico, el riffs grueso y breve le da contundencia.

The Fern Flower

Una tormenta de acordes en presto y allegro muy probablemente nos brindan una apertura rica en estos movimientos entre riffs agudos y rápidos, que posteriormente nos asalta la bella voz de Kremena renaciendo junto a cada nota que nos presenta.

Lady of Eternal Winter

Un sonido más oscuro nos presenta en esta pista, con notas fuertes y con ritmo más acentuado, una canción más melódica acompañada de acorde más fluido con variada velocidad sobre todo en un movimiento.

Una apertura completamente atmosférica y llena de inspiración vocal breve en coplas acústicas embelesadas.

Civilization

Esta es la parte crucial y única! Perfecta armonía instrumental y acordes metaleros con riffs con un exquisito Power/Speed Metal lleno de ritmos galopantes.

Middle Ages

Seguimos con este movimiento excelente! En acordes y riffs, en compañía de violín junto a la voz operística de Kremena, una sola nota en el registro es la dominante aquí.

Apogee*

Siguiente movimiento en quizás presto, acompañado de acordes de violín y guitarras perfectas! Breve pero le da una atmosfera bella!

Demolition

Movimiento suave y brutal! Riffs más destacados y fuertes, mayor velocidad! Galopeo speed con un bueno y oscuro gutural.

The New World

Cerrando el ciclo con esta bella sinfonía, instrumental y acústica llena de folklore progresiva y operística, notas y compas lento y largo.

Mi Recomendación

Un majestuoso y albúm operístico! Opera Metal sería el mejor concepto y clasificación del nuevo albúm de Bendida! Porque está lleno de Movimientos Sinfónicos que destacan como en la canción Beast and Man donde el movimiento es con notas altas, el violín hace un papel genial y me es referente a las obras sinfónicas compuestas por Vivaldi y sobre todo en la última canción History of the World! Donde encontramos en Apogee los elementos de la Ronde 5 por Tielman Susato y el Concierto de Brandenburgo n. ° 3 en sol mayor de Johann Sebastian Bach como ellos mencionan.

Tienen compás, melodía, folk, elementos de power metal con un corte y estilo orquestal, un poco de elementos progresivos en los cambios de ritmo en varias de las canciones, para los amantes del Metal Operístico/Sinfónico este es un albúm lleno de fantasía y melodía! Hay una influencia muy destacable de elementos orquestales de bandas italianas excelentes.

La Voz

El registro y timbre de Kremena sumamente importante aquí! Voz limpia, suave y con un bello vibrato que se conjunta con las escalas y acordes de los instrumentos de percusión, la voz de ella también lleva todo el ritmo y compás en cada canción y los elementos guturales le dan la parte oscura y fuerte.
