Amberian Dawn is a Finnish melodic symphonic metal band about to present its eighth studio album titled "Looking For You" that will be available from January 31.

Here’s the review:

 

United

 

From the first chords we can appreciate a musical style based on metal with a marked influence towards power, symphonic and mainly pop, the latter evoking the Swedish ABBA group. United is the song that opens the album characterized by catchy choirs where Capri stands out for the use of high voices.

 

Eternal Fire Burning

 

The execution of the keyboards by Tuomas Seppälä begins slowly adding little by little intensity to introduce the voice of Capri. It is a song whose lyrics speak of the motivation that we humans have to achieve our dreams and goals. A guitar solo makes presence almost at the end of the song adding versatility.

 

Looking for you

 

Continuing with the pop influence mixed with metal presents one of the promotional singles of this album that evokes the nostalgia of an old love, although in a rhythmic and danceable way. An interesting proposal to present to the world after almost three years of absence.

 

Two blades

 

A song that presents mysticism dyes through the keyboard chords. Following the same musical line as its predecessors, it tries to create a visual image on the theme that it addresses at the lyrical level where the illusion of falling in love, even if it is someone forbidden.

 

Symphony Nr. 1 Part 3 – Awakening

 

This song is one of the most theatrical of the album because it has the collaboration of Fabio Lione (ex-Rhapsody of Fire) that at times reminds us of the beginnings of Amberian Dawn whose musical style was oriented towards symphonic metal with some power influences. Capri makes use of a lyrical voice that enchants and combines perfectly with that of Fabio Lione. A masterpiece.

 

Go For A Ride

 

Going back to the style they have developed in this album, Go For A Ride appears. A song that could work as a simple promotional cone because it represents the musical proposal of the entire album. Rhythmic songs, choirs that invite you to sing and dance without losing their musical identity.

 

Butterfly

 

Beautiful soft song, full of passages with a well-shaped emotion of Capri's beautiful voice! It gives fans a beautiful feeling of magic with soft and sensitive melodic sounds.

 

Universe

 

Soft sound, with long notes, at all times the beautiful voice of Capri is reflected in each letter and note with a record so soft and lyrical, sounds full of harmony.

 

Lay All Your Love On Me (ABBA Cover)

 

A song from a super band of ABBA years! Excellent adaptation and melody! Simple catchy rhythms, good adaptation of the 80s back! Keeping the metal part with a solid base and greatly enhancing the song with the beautiful voice of Capri!

 

Au Revoir

 

A purely instrumental, soft and magical entrance! An environmental song to close this beautiful and jovial album!

 

Cherish My Memory Re-Mastered (Bonustrack)

 

Excellent entry, rhythmic, blunt and melodic! The voice of Capri is beautiful in all the songs presented, sweet, soft, and adapted to the masterful changes in the chords shown and records handled!

 

My Recommendation:

 

Amberian Dawn presented an album that breaks and surprises with the musical style they have continued to develop, it is a retro and modern album! Taking symphonic or symphonic / power metal roots with soft sounds and long notes at times, especially rhythmic and catchy! Also bringing an icon band at the time as ABBA!. It is an album that reinforces on the one hand his musical identity because it is present throughout the album, but also that seeks to approach the new generations through rhythmic and catchy songs that evoke fun.

 

The musical part is very prominent, handling electronic parts coupled by guitar moments with presence and guitar solos with their own identity! The band has emerged with a maximum of musical potential and with this album it will surely impress more than one from the first chords and in masterful voices.

The Voice

 

In the beautiful voice of Capri it is extremely remarkable and very well shown in the handling of chords and musical changes, we are talking about a modern and retro album with an influence such as the ABBA band which vocal records go hand in hand with the sounds and rhythms executed! The beautiful voice of Capri gives a beautiful unique and very refreshing musical passage! With a smooth, sharp and clean log! Also in the combination of the great Fabio Lione in Awakening it gives a masterful touch!

Desde los primeros acordes podemos apreciar un estilo musical basado en el metal con una marcada influencia hacia el power, sinfónico y principalmente pop, éste último evocando a la agrupación sueca ABBA. United es la canción que da apertura al álbum caracterizada por coros pegadizos donde Capri destaca por el empleo de voces agudas.

 

Eternal Fire Burning

 

La ejecución de los teclados por Tuomas Seppälä comienza de forma lenta y pausada añadiéndole poco a poco intensidad para introducir la voz de Capri. Es una canción cuya lírica habla de la motivación que tenemos los seres humanos para lograr nuestros sueños y metas. Un solo de guitarra hace presencia casi al término de la canción añadiéndole versatilidad.

 

Looking For You

 

Continuando con la influencia pop mezclada con el metal se presenta uno de los sencillos promocionales de este álbum que evoca la nostalgia de un viejo amor, aunque de una forma rítmica y bailable. Una propuesta interesante para presentarse ante el mundo tras casi tres años de ausencia.

 

Two Blades

 

Una canción que presenta tintes de misticismo a través de los acordes del teclado. Siguiendo la misma línea musical de sus antecesoras trata de crear una imagen visual sobre la temática que aborda a nivel lírico donde la ilusión de enamorarse, aunque sea alguien prohibido.

 

Symphony Nr. 1 Part 3 – Awakening

 

Esta canción es una de las más teatrales del disco pues cuenta con la colaboración de Fabio Lione (ex-Rhapsody of Fire) que en momentos nos recuerda a los inicios de Amberian Dawn cuyo estilo musical estaba orientado hacia el metal sinfónico con algunas influencias power. Capri hace uso de una voz lírica que encanta y que combina a la perfección con la de Fabio Lione. Una obra maestra.

 

Go For A Ride

 

Regresando al estilo que han desarrollado en este álbum aparece Go For A Ride. Una canción que podría funcionar como sencillo promocional pues representa la propuesta musical de todo el álbum. Canciones rítmicas, coros que te invitan a cantar y bailar sin perder su identidad musical.

 

Butterfly

 

Bella canción suave, llena de pasajes con una emoción bien plasmada de la bella voz de Capri! A los fans les da una bella sensación de magia con sonidos melódicos suaves y sensibles.

 

Universe

 

Sonido suave, con notas largas, en todo momento la bella voz de Capri se plasma en cada letra y nota con un registro tan suave y lirico, sonidos llenos de armonía.

 

Lay All Your Love On Me (ABBA Cover)

 

Una canción de una súper banda de años ABBA! Excelente adaptación y melodía! Ritmos sencillos pegadizos, buena adaptación de los años 80 de vuelta! Manteniendo la parte metálica con una base sólida y realzando mucho la canción con la bella voz de Capri!  

 

Au Revoir

 

Una entrada netamente instrumental, suave y mágica! Una canción ambiental para cerrar este bello y jovial album!

 

Cherish My Memory Re-Mastered (Bonustrack)

 

Excelente entrada, rítmica, contundente y melódica! La voz de Capri es bellísima en todas las canciones presentadas, dulce, suave, y adaptada a los cambios magistrales en los acordes mostrados y registros manejados!

 

Mi Recomendación:

 

Amberian Dawn presento un álbum que rompe y sorprende con el estilo musical que han seguido desarrollando, es un albúm retro y moderno! Tomando las raíces sinfónicas o sinfónico/power metal con sonidos suaves y notas largas por  momentos, sobre todo rítmico y pegadizo! Además trayendo a una banda icono en su momento como ABBA!. Es un disco que refuerza por una parte su identidad musical pues está presente a lo largo del álbum, pero también que busca acercarse a las nuevas generaciones a través de canciones rítmicas y pegadizas que evocan a la diversión.

 

La parte musical es muy destacada, manejos de partes electrónicas acopladas por momentos de guitarras con presencia y solos de guitarra con una identidad propia! La banda ha emergido con un máximo de potencial musical y con este álbum seguramente impresionará a más de uno desde los primeros acordes y en magistrales voces.

La Voz

 

En la bella voz de Capri es sumamente destacable y muy bien mostrada en los manejos de los acordes y cambios musicales, estamos hablando de un albúm moderno y retro con una influencia como lo es la banda ABBA el cual los registros vocales van de la mano con los sonidos y ritmos ejecutados! La bella voz de Capri le da un hermoso pasaje musical único y muy refrescante! Con un registro suave, agudo y limpio! Además en la combinación de el gran Fabio Lione en Awakening le un toque magistral!
