Mizuho was born in 1990 in Brazil and has half Taiwanese, half Brazilian-Polish blood. Lead singer of the metal band Semblant, she graduated in 2013 and has a bachelor degree in Opera Singing.

She joined her first band Semblant in 2010 while the band was still on tour with their album Last Night Of Mortality. She performed her first recordings on their 2011 EP called Behind The Mask, and now her last album with Semblant called Lunar Manifesto (2014).

​

Mizuho performed live as a guest musician on Warrel Dane's (USA) 15th Anniversary of Dead Heart In A Dead World brazilian tour. She also performed live with Moonspell (Portugal) for their Road To Extinction tour, joining them in Curitiba.

​

She was also a guest vocalist for the band Evergrey (Sweden), recording the portuguese intro for their album Hymns For The Broken, and for the band Ankhy (Brazil) recording their single All Men Must Die.

It’s my pleasure! Thnx for the invitation! Well, Semblant and I never really stopped working during this time since our last show or last video. We’ve been planning our new era, composing, studying the best way to release a new album, contacting some booking agency for shows, etc.. We’re finally done with the recordings and our new album is almost ready. At this time, we’re not gonna wait ages to launch the record, I promise hahah. And about me, I’ve been making some featuring for Infinity (Beto Vazques project), for Warrel Dane’s post mortem album, I recorded a cover song for a Deep Purple tribute and recorded the soundtrack for a brazilian movie (not released yet) called Virando A Mesa. So we’ve all been pretty busy.

Darkzen: well busy! But with good results Mizuho.

What are your musical influences today? any new band or vocalist?

​

​

Not really, I think I don’t have any new influences. To be honest, is very rare for me to be listening metal/rock songs at my home nowadays. But I loved the new Within Temptation album. This new WT era is amazing =]

​

Darkzen: WOW! Me too! Is a amazing álbum!

​

Do you have any project on mind? For you, in musical or vocal question?

​

​

All my focus is on Semblant right now. We’re planning big things for the band.

​

Semblant band is a great, could you explain the music to someone that have not heard you?

​

Mizuho

​

So difficult question!! The band changed a lot through these years, member, styles.. If I have to describe it now, I would say that is a metal band with some death and melodic influences, heavy and epic songs with a new universe to be explored and a lot of stories to tell. At the same time, emotional songs with deep sentimental lyrics. Actually I’m describing the new album here. You guys will only understand when you listen to it. We passed trough a lot of things, we’ve been cheated for so long and so many people. And this album says all about this. It’s a very personal album for the band.

Darkzen: great! So will be a personal album for you.

​

What can you tell us about your Semblant band today?

​

​

Yes! As I said, is almost ready. The new album is finishing the mix/master as far as I know. We’re so excited!

​

Who writes the lyrics of the songs? Of the band.

​

Mizuho

​

Actually all of us. But in this album, most of the songs and lyrics are from Juliano Ribeiro. Me, Sergio and J Augusto have our songs too.

​

Musical inspiration, everyday life, emotions commonly, past experiences or dreams, What is the most important thing for you?

​

Mizuho

​

A little bit of everything, this is called Life. We don’t grow as a person if we don’t pass trough some situations. Our experiences, our dreams, our work and our music make us alive. Life is a neverending learning so... absolutely everything is important!

​

You have a very beautiful voice! Would you like to make a totally acoustic album?

​

​

Thank you! I’m not thinking on this right now but never say never, right? =P

Darkzen: That's right!

​

In your personal opinion, what do you think of the new Metal today? and in Brazil?

​

Mizuho

​

I think is getting repetitive. Every band sounds the same, specially on vocals. Too much screams in every single song. But this is a personal taste,  ok? In Brazil the bands have the wrong idea that “if you sing in English, it’s not gonna work here, so I need to sing in portuguese AND scream!”. Wrong.... and repetitive. But that’s just my own opinion.

​

When will we see Mizuho Lin in México?

​

​

I really wanna go there! The city that  I have more followers on Instagram (actually me and Semblant too) is México City, did you know? Even more than our hometown hahah

Darkzen: that is great for you! So here i wait you!

Will you have a new Tour through South América, North América or the old Continent in this year?

​

I’m not sure this year, but yes! We’re preparing a tour in South América!

Mizuho nació en 1990 en Brasil, es mitad taiwanesa, y mitad brasileña-polaca. Cantante principal de la banda de metal Semblant, se graduó en 2013 y tiene una licenciatura en Opera Singing.

​

Se unió a su primera banda Semblant en 2010 mientras la banda aún estaba de gira con su álbum Last Night Of Mortality. Ella realizó sus primeras grabaciones en su EP de 2011 llamado Behind The Mask, y ahora su último álbum con Semblant llamado Lunar Manifesto (2014).

​

Mizuho se presentó en vivo como músico invitado en la gira brasileña del 15 aniversario de Dead Heart In A Dead World de Warrel Dane (EE. UU.). También actuó en vivo con Moonspell (Portugal) para su gira Road To Extinction, uniéndose a ellos en Curitiba.

​

¡De nada! Gracias por la invitación! Bueno, Semblant y yo nunca dejamos de trabajar durante este tiempo desde nuestro último show o último video. Hemos estado planeando nuestra nueva era, componiendo, estudiando la mejor manera de lanzar un nuevo álbum, contactando a alguna agencia de reservas para shows, etc. Finalmente, hemos terminado con las grabaciones y nuestro nuevo álbum está casi listo. En este momento, no vamos a esperar años para lanzar el disco, lo prometo jajaja. Y sobre mí, he estado haciendo algunas presentaciones para Infinity (proyecto Beto Vazques), para el álbum post mortem de Warrel Dane, grabé una canción para un tributo a Deep Purple y grabé la banda sonora de una película brasileña (aún no lanzada) llamada Virando a la mesa. Así que todos hemos estado muy ocupados.

Darkzen: pues bastante ocupada! Pero con buenos resultados Mizuho.

 

¿Cuáles son tus influencias musicales hoy en día? ¿Alguna nueva banda o vocalista?

​

No realmente, creo que no tengo nuevas influencias. Para ser honesta, es muy raro que escuche canciones de metal / rock en mi hogar hoy en día. Pero me encantó el nuevo álbum Within Temptation. Esta nueva era WT es increíble =]

​

Darkzen: ¡WOW! ¡Yo también! Es un álbum increíble!

​

¿Tienes algún proyecto en mente? ¿Para ti, en cuestión musical o vocal?

​

Todo mi enfoque está en Semblant en este momento. Estamos planeando grandes cosas para la banda.

​

La banda de Semblant es genial, ¿Podrías explicar la música a alguien que no te haya escuchado?

​

Mizuho

​

¡¡Tan difícil pregunta!! La banda cambió mucho a lo largo de estos años, miembros, estilos ... Si tengo que describirlo ahora, diría que es una banda de metal con death y algunas influencias melódicas, canciones pesadas y épicas con un nuevo universo para explorar y muchas historias que contar. Al mismo tiempo, canciones emocionales con letras sentimentales profundas. En realidad, estoy describiendo el nuevo álbum aquí. Ustedes solo entenderán cuando lo escuchen. Pasamos por muchas cosas, hemos sido engañados durante tanto tiempo y tantas personas. Y este álbum dice todo sobre esto. Es un álbum muy personal para la banda.

¿Qué nos puedes contar de la banda de Semblant hoy?

​

​

¡Sí! Como dije, está casi listo. El nuevo álbum está terminando la mezcla / master por lo que sé. ¡Estamos tan emocionados!

​

¿Quién escribe las letras de las canciones? De la banda.

​

​

En realidad todos nosotros. Pero en este álbum, la mayoría de las canciones y letras son de Juliano Ribeiro. Yo, Sergio y J Augusto también tenemos nuestras canciones.

​

Inspiración musical, vida cotidiana, emociones comunes, experiencias pasadas o sueños. ¿Qué es lo más importante para ti?

​

Mizuho

Un poco de todo, esto se llama Vida. No crecemos como persona si no pasamos por algunas situaciones. Nuestras experiencias, nuestros sueños, nuestro trabajo y nuestra música nos hacen vivir. La vida es un aprendizaje interminable, así que ... ¡absolutamente todo es importante!

Tienes una voz muy bonita! ¿Te gustaría hacer un álbum totalmente acústico?

​

​

¡Gracias! No estoy pensando en esto ahora pero nunca digo nunca, ¿verdad? = P

​

Darkzen: Así es!

​

En tu opinión personal, ¿Qué piensas del nuevo Metal de hoy? y en Brasil?

​

Mizuho

​

Creo que se está volviendo repetitivo. Todas las bandas suenan igual, especialmente en las voces. Demasiados gritos en cada canción. Pero esto es un gusto personal, ¿vale? En Brasil, las bandas tienen la idea equivocada de que "si cantas en inglés, no va a funcionar aquí, ¡así que necesito cantar en portugués Y gritar!". Mal ... y repetitivo. Pero esa es solo mi opinión.

​

Darkzen: estoy de acuerdo.

​

¿Cuándo veremos a Mizuho Lin en México?

​

​

Realmente quiero ir allí! La ciudad que tengo más seguidores en Instagram (en realidad yo y Semblant también) es la Ciudad de México, ¿lo sabías? Incluso más que nuestra ciudad natal jajaja.

​

¿Tendrás un nuevo tour a través de Sudamérica, Norteamérica o el viejo Continente en este año?

​

No estoy segura este año, pero sí! ¡Estamos preparando una gira en América del Sur!
