The Wonders Still Awaiting is the eighth studio album by German symphonic metal band Xandria! The album was released this 3 February 2023 by Napalm Records, with a great production!

It is the first studio album to feature lead vocalist Ambre Vourvahis, Tim Schwarz on bass, drummer Dimitros Gatsios and guitarist Rob Klawonn!

My Recomendation

As always it is a pleasure to listen to the tremendous albums of Xandria! With incredible singers, and now with the great opportunity of Ambre Vourvahis! The album entry is sublime, epic, operatic, melodic and symphonic! With speed and energy, orchestral elements and choirs, especially the guttural parts gives it a great touch! With a rather striking contrast to the song, With “Reborn”, it reminds us a bit of some old songs by the band Xandria with a similar chorus and rhythm in the musical entrance, and the handling of great gutturals! In “You Will Never Be Our God”, Ralph Scheppers with an interpretation entirely in gutturals and in harmony with the beautiful voice of Ambre! The symphonic and melodic sequences in a great way! Then with that soft entrance and handling of choirs that accompanies them later with slightly stronger and more melodic chords, in the eponymous song from the album "The Wonders Still Awaiting" with excellent rhythm and sound! In "Ghosts" we have a more Heavy/Power metal sound and style for which that drums in the whole song is heard very well with good tempo and forcefulness, as well as with the following song of "Your Stories I'll Remember" notes in the piano and brief bagpipe accompaniments to those violin and cello melodies by Ally Storch! And so we can delight ourselves until the grand finale with the song with roots from the Middle East and extensive in time of almost 10 minutes in "Astèria" with chords and adjusted speeds and that drums with a lot of energy and rhythm, leisurely tempos and the set of melodies It doesn't make you wait between those Middle Eastern rhythms and the melodic parts along with those unique gutturals

This new Xandria album is a great production! With solid songs, with good musical production each one of them to form a continuous, melodic, symphonic album between dark and strong, recalling the label that distinguishes the band, the symphonic orchestral parts and the parts with Metal, the soft and Ambre's beautiful voice is exquisite! Clean and majestic! Seductive indeed and romantic, the musical influences are very distinctive and may have similarities to other bands within the Symphonic Metal genre, but Xandria has always given a unique and quality stamp! This is an album of the best of this year 2023!

Como siempre es un placer escuchar los tremendos albúm de Xandria! Con increíbles cantantes, y ahora con la gran oportunidad de Ambre Vourvahis! La entrada del albúm es sublime, épica, operística, melodica y sinfónica! Con Velocidad y energía, elementos orquestales y coros, sobre todo las partes guturales le da un gran toque! Con un contraste bastante llamativo a la canción, Con “Reborn”, nos recuerda un poco algunas canciones de antaño dela banda Xandria con un coro semejante y ritmo en la entrada musical, y el manejo de guturales geniales! En “You Will Never Be Our God”,  Ralph Scheppers con una interpretación completamente en guturales y en armonía con la bella voz de Ambre! Las secuencias sinfónicas y melódicas de manera genial! Después con esa entrada suave y manejo de coros que les acompaña posteriormente con acordes un poco mas fuertes y melódicos, en la canción homónima del albúm “The Wonders Still Awaiting” con excelente ritmo y sonido! En “Ghosts” tenemos un sonido y estilo más Heavy/Power metal para lo cual esa batería en toda la canción se escucha muy bien con buen tempo y contundencia, así con la siguiente canción de “Your Stories I’ll Remember” notas en el piano y breves acompañamientos de gaita con esas melodías de violín y cello por parte de Ally Storch! Y así nos podemos deleitar hasta el gran final con la canción con raíces del medio oriente y extensa en tiempo de casi 10 minutos en “Astèria” con acordes y velocidades ajustadas y esa batería con mucha energía y ritmo, tempos pausados y el conjunto de melodías no se hace esperar entre esos ritmos de medio oriente y las partes melódicas junto a esos guturales únicos

Este nuevo albúm de Xandria es una gran producción! Con canciones sólidas, con buena producción musical cada una de ellas para formar un albúm continua, melódico, sinfónico entre oscuro y fuerte, recordando el sello que distingue a la banda, están equilibradas las partes sinfónicas orquestales y las partes con Metal, la suave y bella voz de Ambre es exquisita! ¡Limpia y majestuosa! Seductora de hecho y romántica, las influencias musicales son muy distintivas y quizás tenga similitudes a otras agrupaciones dentro del género del Metal Sinfónico, pero Xandria siempre ha dado un sello único y de calidad!  Este es un albúm de los mejores de este año 2023!
