Hi!!!! My friend! How are you? Thanks for this opportunity!

 

“Hey! I’m good thank you. Thanks for having me!”

 

Tell us what are you doing? What goal you have for this year?

“Well I have recently parted ways with my label so as a solo artist I am writing a new album. I should have a fan funding campaign out very soon as well as a new single. I have also been writing for the next Cradle of Filth album and have been taking harp lessons. I am hoping that all these major projects will be solidified by the end of this year.”

 

Who is Lindsay? Have many musical and vocal skills as you combine that?

“For my voice I am my strongest in a light lyric soprano range, but I’m actually a coloratura. I’ve trained in rock, opera, folk, jazz, and musical theatre singing styles and I’m glad I did because Cradle of Filth’s repertoire called for it as far as female vocals goes. I took up classical piano for a few years as well. I also play the bass, but I’m not as good as I use to be.”

 

Darkness is part of you! and good will! when you're up on stage, Lindsay who is,  quietly or a lindsay dark and aggressive?

“When I’m up on stage I feel I am a performer and a persona has to come out in order for it to be a good performance. I have a darker image and persona in Cradle of Filth than I do with my solo band Schoolcraft. While Schoolcraft is still slightly dark in some parts of the music, I find it more borderline fantasy with more of a symphonic presence. We’ll see where the sound and image goes on this next solo album though.”

 

As is the relationship with Dani Filth? What surprises that we have? 

“He is my boss, but also one of my closest friends. It’s really awesome when you can meet someone who shares the same drive and creative vision as your do. He is constantly inspiring me to be my best in the band as well as to create my own art and just “let it all out” and not be afraid with my creativity. Surprises? We on occasion have a night out on tour dancing to possibly some of the worst hits from 90s euro pop music *laughs*.”

 

Will come to latin america again? and America? 

“As for my solo project I am not sure yet. With Cradle of Filth we came in the spring of last year.”

 

For you that is Black Metal? Under that concept than your drive? Because in order to convey what one sings and plays must have a very personal and objective idea of the style

“My introduction to black metal was with bands like Dimmu Borgir, Immortal, and Belphegor. All of which I really liked when I heard it for the first time, especially the groove and flow with the band structure. What intrigued me was the symphonic element that Dimmu Borgir brought into the mix. While black metal has it’s unique sound to offer to metal I find myself always gravitating towards symphonic metal bands. That is one thing I also really like about Cradle of Filth: it’s punky, heavy, symphonic, and also groovy at times. It’s really the perfect blend of many metal subgenres put together.”

 

Tell your other projects? How you feel with the side of Cradle of Filth? 

“At the moment I only have my solo project known as Schoolcraft. I find it easy to work around Cradle of Filth’s schedule. Although I have gone overboard this month on the writing and band responsibilities! Whoops! Oh, and I am also going to be a character on the rock opera video game Karmaflow. I;m really looking forward to that!”

 

Tell your good and bad experiences at some tour with them?

“When I did a gig in Sweden some drunken guy at the barrier told me he was going hit me as I tried to get back stage to get ready for a show. Really upset me and scared me, but h didn’t acting get violent which was good. But that aside I have had so many amazing memories with the band and the fans. Even with my solo band when we did a weekend tour to Quebec. I love that sometimes on a day off I can be a tourist and see places such as Taiwan, Australia, Columbia, France, Germany, Austria too.”

 

What kind of metalhead style you like most and why? You are dark? depressive? aggressive? epica? or more melodic?

“I definitely like to delve into the heavier stuff at times like death metal, but I really love symphonic metal with the female voice. I’m also into folk and power metal as well.”

 

Anything else you wanted to add? 

“Just a big thank you to the fans for their never-ending support and patience. And to yourself for this interview!”

Hola amiga como estas? Gracias por esta oportunidad.

 

Hey! Estoy muy bien, gracias por invitarme

 

Cuéntanos que estás haciendo? Que metas tienes para este año?

 

Recientemente empecé con mi marca como solista y estoy escribiendo para un nuevo álbum. Debería tener un nuevo sencillo muy pronto. También he estado escribiendo para el siguiente álbum de Cradle of Filth y he estado tomando clases de arpa.

Espero que todos estos proyectos se concreten para fines de año.

 

Quien es Lindsay? Tienes muchas habilidades musicales y vocales, como las combinas?

 

Por mi tipo de voz, en un rango soprano, soy de las más fuertes pero realmente soy una coloratura. He entrenado en rock, opera, folk, jazz y teatro musical, son muchos estilos de canto pero me alegra haberlo hecho por que el repertorio de Cradle of Filth lo pide.

Toque durante años el piano y también toco el bajo, pero no soy tan buena como antes.

 

La oscuridad es parte de ti! Que Lindsay es la que sube al escenario, la tranquila o la oscura y agresiva?

 

Cuando me subo al escenario me siento toda una artista, una persona tiene que hacerlo para ser un verdadero artista.

Tengo una imagen más oscura en Cradle of Filth, que a comparación de con Schoolcraft. Con mi banda solo soy oscura en partes musicales pero lo encuentro más fantasioso, con una presencia sinfónica.

Veremos hacia dónde va el sonido y la imagen en el siguiente álbum.

 

Como es tu relación con Dani Filth? Que sorpresas han tenido?

 

Él es mi jefe, pero también es uno de mis amigos más cercanos, es increíble cuando conoces a alguien que comparte la misma visión creativa que tu.

El constantemente me inspira a dar lo mejor de mí en la banda, así como a crear mi propio arte, dice que "lo deje salir" y que no tema a mi creatividad.

 

Sorpresas? 

 

Una vez salimos a bailar, probablemente los peores hits de los 90s del europop. jajajaja

 

Vendrán a Latino América otra ves?

 

Con mi proyecto solista aun no estoy segura y con Cradle of Filth vinimos el año pasado en primavera.

Para ti que es Black Metal? Que concepto manejas de este? Por qué para poder transmitir lo que tocas y cantas, debes tener un objetivo y una idea personal sobre el estilo.

Mi introducción en el Black Metal fue con bandas como Dimmu Borgir, Immortal y Belphegor. Me gustaron mucho cuando los escuche por primera vez, especialmente por su fluidez en la estructura de la banda.

Lo que me intrigo fue el elemento sinfónico que Dimmu Borgir le dio a su mezcla. Mientras el Black Metal tiene ese sonido único que ofrecerle al metal, me encuentro a mí misma entre bandas de metal sinfónico.

Eso es algo que me gusta mucho de Cradle of Filth: es pesado, es sinfónico y melódico. Es la mezcla perfecta de muchos subgéneros en el metal pero juntos.

 

Que otros proyectos tienen?

 

Por el momento solo tengo mi proyecto solista conocido como "Schoolcraft".

 

Cuéntanos algunas experiencias buenas y malas de ir en tour con Cradle of Filth?

 

En un concierto en Suecia, hubo un chico ebrio que dijo que me golpearía mientras yo regresaba al escenario para preparar el show. Eso me enojo y me asusto mucho, pero al final el no actuó agresivo.

A pesar de eso tengo muchos recuerdos asombrosos con la banda y los fans. Incluso con mi banda, hicimos un tour de fin de semana a Quebec.

Me encanta que en mis días libres puedo actuar como un turista y ver lugares hermosos como Taiwán, Australia, Francia, Alemania y Austria.

 

Qué tipo de metal te gusta más y por qué? Eres oscura, depresiva, agresiva o más melódica?

 

Definitivamente me gustan las cosas más pesadas como el Death Metal, pero realmente amo el metal sinfónico con una  voz femenina.

También me gusta el folk y el power metal.

 

Algo más que quieras agregar?
