Greetings! Friends!! Here in this week our friend Iliana Tsakiraki of Enemy of Reality gave us a bit of your time and answer me these questions! Truly a talented woman! go with this interview!

Hello ! my friend ! thank you very much ! for this opportunity!

 

I ‘m the one who should be thanking you for all your support both to me personally,as in our band!

 

Tell us a little more about the very talented and beautiful Iliana Tsakiraki ! How is on and off stage ?
 

I ‘m a professor of Voice Placement,so most hours in my typical day are also involved with musical stuff.

 

Your musical influences that you have, what vocalists are your inspiration ?
 

I ‘m usually inspired and influenced by all voices when they ‘re technically well shaped,wether it ’s brutal vocals or rock,jazz and soprano vocals.

 

That beautiful voice you have! a question, What is  you vocal  range ?
 

Thank you very much for your kind words! I ‘m a lyrico soprano with a range from La#3 to Re#6

 

What do you mean for you, the symphonic metal, is a passion or just a genre? , because for me, the trasmit power what you sing is very important.
 

Of course it ’s a passion,since it ’s music! If one ’s into this,singing or playing music, one better really love it and have tons of passion about this form of art.

 

Which is the essence of Enemy of Reality ? what's behind the name?
 

Behind the name? To me there’s a truth that we meet in our everyday life: We all have “real” enemies trying to fight us or keep us down,in many ways,both literally or metaphorically speaking. But psychologically our true enemy,and maybe the greatest one of all is actually our own self.

 

As was the idea, the source or inspiration for his album '' Rejected '' Gods ? you wrote the songs?
 

The main songwriters of the record,you know,the ones that bring the first ideas to the rest of the band, are Steelianos and me. Steelianos has done most of the work, he was excited from the beginning and every idea he brought to the table became one of our tracks. After that Marianthie works on the idea giving a symphonic approach to the piece,orchestrating it. Philip and Thanos at the same time,being the rhythm section,are trying out approaches to enhance the power of the songs. And Thanos has written most of the lyrics on the record as well! It ’s generally an album created by five different personalities and each of us has left his signature on it.

 

Can you tell some about your guests Participate in this great álbum? amazing team!
 

Thank you!  First of I ‘ll speak about our wonderful girls: Androniki and Maxi are both my dear friends. They ‘re both very talented,each one with a different style,but both sharing amazing achievements through their musical careers! Ailyn is the sweetest creature,totally down to earth and it ’s very rare to meet such a character when the person is so well known and has accomplished so much in her career! Mike LePond is an extremely amazing musician,I believe nobody can doubt that,always very friendly and a pleasant person! Chris Antoniou is a wonderful artist and human being,a great mind, his music and what he ’s created through the years speak in his place. Renos  is a musician with tons of musical knowledge,very cheerful and a hard worker. Personally I still can’t get over my excitement,having the honour to work with such great artists,and so well known!

The fact that they trusted our music,to me means a lot.

 

 

You take a long time to make this new album?
 

The duration was exactly six months. We ‘re a band for a longer period than that,but last October our guitarist and drummer, Steelianos and Philip were members of the Eve’s Apple band at the Metal Female Voices Fest,and had to study and practice hard,and focus at the Eve’s Apple show,so we really started composing after we came back from the MFVF.
 

 

I liked the cover of the disk, which means ? who performed ? you gave the idea?
 

The artwork is inspired from ancient Hellenic mythology (since we ‘re all Hellenes it makes sense) You can see a -not so typical- figure of Medusa,rising out of the sea,ready to create some chaos and petrifies the men on the shore. According to the legend,whoever stared into Medusa ’s eyes was immediately petrified. Medusa sometimes represents notions of scientific determinism and nihilism. So the attempts to avoid looking into her eyes represent avoiding the ostensibly depressing reality that the universe is meaningless. You can see how it ’s related to the band’s name as well.

The French artist Pierre had the idea on this amazing cover,our music felt both aggressive and majestic to him,so the artwork fitted well! Another reason that a female figure was chosen as the main figure on our cover is the fact that we have female vocals, obviously.

 

My congratulation for Participate in MFVF!!! Is a amazing fest! you'll have to surprise us at the festival? Do you Represent some about the new album there?
 

Of course you ‘ll get to listen to “Rejected Gods” live and we surely have many plans,which will be presented on stage.

 

Will make any video clip from his new album?
 

Yes,we already have set the dates for the filming,but the videoclip will be available to the public on the first days of September.

 

Will make a tour in Europe ? when we could visit here in America and Latin America ?

There are many miles to cross yet to be able to visit the U.S.A. and Latin America. But we know we already have many fans in Latin America so we really want to perform live and meet them all in person!

Saludos! Amigos! Como están! Aquí en esta semana nuestra amiga! Iliana Tsakiraki de Enemy of Reality nos dio un poco de su tiempo y me contesto estas preguntas! En verdad una gran mujer con mucho talento!

Hola, muchas gracias por esta oportunidad

 

Yo soy quien debería agradecerles por apoyarnos, tanto a mí como a mi banda.

 

Háblanos un poco más sobre la bella y talentosa Iliana Tsakiraki, como es arriba y fuera del escenario?

 

Soy profesora de colocación, entonces la mayoría de las horas de mi día estoy involucrada en cosas musicales.

 

Que influencias musicales tienes? Que vocalistas te inspiran?

 

Usualmente me inspiro en todas las voces que tienen buena forma, ya sea vocales brutales o rock y jazz, o vocales soprano.

 

Tienes una voz hermosa, dinos cuál es tu rango vocal?

 

Muchas gracias, son amables tus palabras. Soy cantante soprano con un rango de La#3 a Re#6.

 

Que significa para ti el metal sinfónico, es una pasión o simplemente un género? Porque para mí, el poder que transmites al  cantar es muy importante.

 

Por supuesto que es una pasión, desde que entras a la música lo sabes, ya sea cantando o tocando, esto es un amor real y lleva montones de pasión, es una forma de arte.

 

Cuál es la esencia de "Enemy of reality"? Que hay detrás de su nombre?

 

Detrás del nombre? para mi es una verdad a la que nos enfrentamos en nuestra vida diaria: Todos tenemos "enemigos reales" tratando de vencernos y limitarnos, de muchas formas, literalmente y metafóricamente hablando.Pero psicológicamente nuestro verdadero enemigo, probablemente el más grande, somos nosotros mismos.

 

En qué idea se inspiraron para su álbum "Rejected Gods"? Tu escribiste las canciones?

 

Los escritores principales de las canciones en esta grabación, los primeros en traer ideas a la banda fuimos Steelianos y yo.

 Steelianos ha hecho la mayoría del trabajo, estaba emocionado desde el principio y cada idea que puso sobre la mesa se convirtió en uno de nuestros tracks. Después Marianthie trabajo en la idea de darle un toque sinfónico.

Philip y Thanos al mismo tiempo, trabajaban en la sección del ritmo, probaron como realzar el poder las canciones. Thanos ha escrito la mayoría de las letras de las canciones.

Es un álbum creado por 5 diferentes personalidades y cada uno de nosotros ha dejado su firma en el.

 

Podrías decirme algo sobre los invitados que participaron en este increíble álbum?

 

Sin duda es un equipo asombroso!.

Gracias por eso, primero que nada hablare sobre nuestras maravillosas chicas: Androniki y Maxi, ambas muy amigas mías. Son muy talentosas, cada una con un estilo diferente pero ambas comparten logros increíbles en sus carreras musicales.

Aylin es la criatura más dulce, tiene los pies sobre la tierra y es raro encontrar un carácter como el de ella, más cuando la persona es tan bien conocida y ha realizado tanto con su carrera.

 

Mike LePond es un músico extremadamente increíble, creo que nadie puede dudarlo, es una persona amistosa y agradable.

 

Chris Antoniou es un artista y ser humano maravilloso, una gran mente, su música y sus creaciones hablan por él.

 

Renos es una persona con montones de conocimiento musical, bastante animado y trabaja muy duro.

 

Personalmente, aun no puedo con tanta emoción de tener el honor de trabajar con tan increíbles artistas y tan bien conocidos. El hecho es que ellos confiaron en nuestra música y eso significa mucho.

 

Tardaron mucho en realizar este álbum?

 

Tardamos exactamente 6 meses. Somos una banda que tarda más que eso pero en Octubre pasado, nuestro guitarrista y baterista, Steelianos y Philip, fueron miembros de la banda  "The Eve's Apple" y participaron en el Metal Female Voices Fest (MFVF).

Tuvieron que estudiar y practicar muy duro, y concentrarse en el show de "The Eve's Apple". Así que empezamos a componer después de que regresaron del festival MFVF.

 

Me gusto la portada de su disco, que significa?

 

Las ilustraciones están inspiradas en la antigua mitología Helénica, puedes ver una figura nada típica de medusa, saliendo del mar, listo para provocar algo de caos y petrificar a los hombres en la orilla.

De acuerdo con la leyenda, cualquier persona que mire a los ojos a Medusa, será inmediatamente petrificada. Medusa representa un poco la determinación científica y el nihilismo.

Intentar evadir la mirada representa, evadir la depresiva realidad de que el universo no tiene sentido. Puedes ver cómo tiene que ver con el nombre de la banda también.

El artista francés Pierre, tuvo la idea de la portada. El sintió nuestra música en forma agresiva y a la vez majestuosa, así que su arte encajaba perfecto.

Otra razón de haber escogido una figura femenina como figura principal en nuestra portada es el hecho de que tenemos vocales femeninas, obviamente.

 

Mis felicitaciones por participar en el "Metal Female Voices Fest", es un festival increíble. Tendrán que sorprendernos, presentaran algo del nuevo álbum?

 

Por supuesto, van a escuchar "Rejected Gods" en vivo y seguramente tendremos muchos planes, uno de ellos será presentarnos en el escenario.

 

Harán un videoclip para alguna de las canciones de este álbum?

 

Si, ya tenemos las fechas de filmación, pero el videoclip estará disponible para el público en los primeros días de septiembre.

 

Harán algún tour por Europa? Cuando podrán visitar América y Latinoamérica?

 

Aún quedan muchas millas que cruzar para poder visitar Estados Unidos y Latinoamérica, pero sabemos que ya tenemos muchos fans en Latinoamérica así que esperamos presentarnos en vivo y conocerlos personalmente.
