¿How are you Sonya?

 

Very good, thank you!

 

¿Who are Sleep in Heads band?

 

It's our music family which has a lot of common music ideas.

 

Tell us the history of this band, ¿how was born?

 

The band was created in 2015 by Serj (guitars) and Natali (violins). At that time they left their previous music bands and decided to create a common project. At near time they were joined by Fann (bass). Then gradually the group was complemented by missing links. It's vocals, drums (Roman) and keyboards (Kate).

 

¿Why Progressive Metal?

 

It's a really great genre of music which doesn’t have rigid boundaries and allows to experiment with a sound.

 

¿Any other style in Metal that you like?

 

Oriental, alternative, and doom metal. It's what I really like.

 

¿What does mean to you Sonya? The Rock Progressive and Metal Progressive

 

As I said earlier, it's a beautiful genre with a lush and rich sound. It gives a chance to experiment not only with music but with vocals too. I always have inspirations to improve my vocal parts and I think it's really a merit of a genre.

¿What is the most important element for you? the letter, the inspiration or the musical style

 

I think that all things in our life need inspirations. It doesn't matter what we’re doing, without inspirations it won't be good. So, of course, for me, the most important one is an inspiration.

 

¿What does mean the name of the band?

 

My name in English sounds like "sleepyhead" and once it was loosely translated from Ukrainian/Russian like "sleepyhead". And all of us have thought that it sounds really cool. We played with words a little bit and formed our special name "Sleep in Heads".

 

Your álbum is very good! I made his review and left me impressed, some time ago I did not listen to a combination within this style like that, ¿How was the production of this álbum? Sleep in Heads,  ‘On The Air’

 

For two years, Serj, Natali and Fann had been working on songs writing and recording which featured several session musicians. When I joined the band, all music had been already recorded, so we started actively working on the vocal parts. For several months, I had been creating lyrics and melodies for the songs and another couple of months we'd been recording them. So, in 2018's first day of spring, the world heard our debut album and it was a really amazing day for all of us.

 

The vocalist and band lyricist Sonya comments:

 

“The album’s title “On the Air” perfectly reflects its concept – it’s a life here and now, a life filled with all kinds of emotions, events, moods, like a song on the air. Each track encourages you not to become isolated, but to be open and sincere. Live so as not to destroy that important balance between your consciousness and the world.”

¿What makes you write these songs?

 

I always write lyrics when the music is ready. I listen to it and get certain emotions, inspirations, and ideas which then combine into lyrics. So, it's always music helps me to write songs.

 

¿As you define Sonya the message of your album? a message of self exploration and discovery

 

The main message of our first album is life here and now, like a song on the air. It's a life on the air without masks and hypocrisy. It's a message to find a right way and live a full life.

 

For this álbum, ¿Will there be a video of some song in special?

 

We have one video from rehearsal, it's a song "Time like the sand" and, of course, in the near future we want to make a music video for another one song.

Anything else you'd like to share with us?

 

I always want to tell people that they should bear good to the world and then the world will share with them its most beautiful sides and give new opportunities.

And also I want to wish a lot of beautiful music which might become a soundtrack to every wonderful moment of life.

¿Quiénes son Sleep in Heads Band?

 

Es nuestra familia de la música la que tiene muchas ideas musicales comunes.

 

Cuéntanos la historia de esta banda, ¿cómo nació?

 

La banda fue creada en 2015 por Serj (guitarras) y Natali (violines). En ese momento dejaron sus bandas de música anteriores y decidieron crear un proyecto común. En un momento cercano se les unió Fann (bajo). Luego, gradualmente, el grupo se complementó con enlaces perdidos. Es voz, batería (romano) y teclados (Kate).

 

¿Por qué Metal progresivo?

 

Es un gran género de música que no tiene límites rígidos y permite experimentar con un sonido.

 

¿Algún otro estilo en Metal que te guste?

 

Oriental, alternativo y doom metal. Es lo que realmente me gusta.

 

¿Qué significa para ti Sonya? The Rock Progressive y Metal Progressive

 

Como dije antes, es un género hermoso con un sonido exuberante y rico. Da la oportunidad de experimentar no solo con música sino también con voces. Siempre tengo inspiración para mejorar mis partes vocales y creo que es realmente un mérito de un género.

¿Cuál es el elemento más importante para ti? la letra, la inspiración o el estilo musical

 

Creo que todas las cosas en nuestra vida necesitan inspiración. No importa lo que hagamos, sin inspiraciones no será bueno. Entonces, por supuesto, para mí, el más importante es una inspiración.

 

¿Qué significa el nombre de la banda?

 

Mi nombre en inglés suena como "sleepyhead" y una vez fue traducido de manera ucraniana / rusa como "sleepyhead". Y todos nosotros pensamos que suena realmente genial. Jugamos un poco con las palabras y formamos nuestro nombre especial "Sleep In Heads".

 

¡Tu álbum es muy bueno! Hice su reseña y me dejó impresionado, hace un tiempo no escuché una combinación dentro de este estilo así, ¿cómo fue la producción de este álbum? Sleep in Heads,  ‘On The Air’

 

Durante dos años, Serj, Natali y Fann habían estado trabajando en la grabación de canciones y la grabación de varios músicos de sesión. Cuando me uní a la banda, toda la música ya había sido grabada, así que comenzamos a trabajar activamente en las partes vocales. Durante varios meses, he estado creando letras y melodías para las canciones y en otro par de meses las hemos estado grabando. Entonces, en el primer día de la primavera de 2018, el mundo escuchó nuestro álbum debut y fue un día realmente increíble para todos nosotros.

 

El vocalista y letrista de la banda, Sonya, comenta:

 

"El título del álbum" On the Air "refleja perfectamente su concepto: es una vida aquí y ahora, una vida llena de todo tipo de emociones, eventos, estados de ánimo, como una canción en el aire. Cada pista te anima a no aislarte, sino a ser abierto y sincero. Vive para no destruir ese importante equilibrio entre tu conciencia y el mundo ".

 

¿Qué te hace escribir estas canciones?

 

Siempre escribo letras cuando la música está lista. Lo escucho y obtengo ciertas emociones, inspiraciones e ideas que luego se combinan en letras. Entonces, siempre la música me ayuda a escribir canciones.

 

¿Como define Sonya el mensaje de tu álbum? un mensaje de auto exploración y descubrimiento

 

El mensaje principal de nuestro primer álbum es la vida aquí y ahora, como una canción en el aire. Es una vida en el aire sin máscaras e hipocresía. Es un mensaje para encontrar el camino correcto y vivir una vida plena.

 

Para este álbum, ¿habrá un video de alguna canción en especial?

 

Tenemos un video de ensayo, es una canción "Time like the sand" y, por supuesto, en el futuro cercano queremos hacer un video musical para otra canción.

 

¿Algo más que quieras compartir con nosotros?

 

Siempre quiero decirle a la gente que deben portarse bien con el mundo y luego el mundo compartirá con ellos sus lados más bellos y les dará nuevas oportunidades.

 

Y también deseo desear mucha música hermosa que pueda convertirse en una banda sonora para cada momento maravilloso de la vida.
