Massacre Records' Catalyst Crime is an international cinematic symphonic metal band that began in late 2017 as a project between Xandria drummer Gerit Lamm and American vocalist Zoe Marie Federoff. Accompanied by orchestral composer and keyboardist Jonah Weingarten of Pyramaze, guitarists Chena Roxx and Kaelen Sarakinis, as well as bassist Matt Federoff, the project quickly took shape into a fully formed band blending the epic soundscapes of symphonic metal, the dark intensity of death metal, and moments of free spirited progressive metal. Upon meeting the band and hearing the project, Alexander Krull (Leaves’ Eyes, Atrocity) eagerly joined the team as producer and recorded the self-titled debut album at Mastersound Studios in Stuttgart, Germany. The debut Catalyst Crime album is due in 2021.

An atmospheric, operatic and epic introduction, a good symphonic overture.

Projection Of My Mind

A soft, atmospheric beginning, very epic without a doubt, with an explosion of chords and strong and forceful drums, Zoe's beautiful voice joins in combining a short and strong guttural, symphonic metal with excellent keyboards.

Condemn Me To Chaos

Starting with a smooth handling of keyboards, soft, piano, epic atmospheric that later assaults us with explosion in the guitars and drums, changes of speed and tempos, melodic and heavy but very well structured and elegantly made.

Mother Dearest

We have a very epic entry! A not-so-deep guttural enters the first movement, with theatrical musical movements that accompany Zoe's beautiful voice and the guttural as a whole.

Twice Upon A Time

A beautiful background voice decorates the beginning of this song, extremely elegant at the beginning, with drama, it has long and slow movements, strong and constant chords, a ballad we have so far very beautifully made.

Cognitive Dissonance (Feat. Jake E)

A very explosive start, sounds, melody, rhythm and speed, power metal with a higher dose! The combined voice between the two gives it a more accentuated drama in a great way.

Break Even

Excellent musical beginning, Epic, powerful and stronger, one of the densest songs, with a slower but powerful passage of time, with elements of power metal like the previous song.

Chasing The Ghost

A beautiful musical beginning, smooth and clean, piano and clearer sounds where Zoe's voice stands out at the first moment! Another beautiful ballad they leave us with great elegance.

Nowhere Near Dead Yet

A smooth opening accompanied by piano and keyboards, followed by an avalanche of strong, melodic and well-structured chords into action in a combination of heartbreaking vocals and Zoe's beautiful clean white voice.

Without Anesthesia

Great power metal from the beginning of the song! Powerful and elegantly structured, forceful in the changes of rhythm and keeping the melodic part well done.

Not Even Once

Closing almost this good album of the band, with strength, melody and musical cinematic elegance with this melodically great song.

One And Counting (Outro)

Closing with strong, epic choruses and with a heroic atmosphere, as at the beginning of the album, the symphonic and operatic parts with all their splendor.

My Recomendation

Catalystcrime album is a beautifully made musically album, structured in great detail, symphonic, operatic, epic and heroic elements in the production part notable, Symphonic Metal and Power metal grace the whole album, there are short riffs, the chords between the guitars very well Shown with alternating tempos, between fast and slow, we have ballads if in two songs where Zoe's beautiful voice expands in a great way, we have notable musical styles in this debut album of Comparative Symphonic Metal with the great exponents like Xandria or Leaves' Eyes , The Symphonic introduction is good and in many of them it appears, then the Power Metal element makes a presence in a varied way, because there are specific musical patterns that we listen to with a longer period, so we have a beautifully made album, structured in a phenomenal symphonic way with elements of very good melodic symphonic power metal, for fans of Symphonic Metal it will catch them!

The Voice

Zoe's beautiful voice is beautiful, with a beautiful clean timbre, with a smooth and clear register, with a range towards the high that we can hear throughout the album, it further exalts many of the musical parts of the entire album, but It fades at times, the musical element overflows a bit more, the ballad parts it's a delight to hear Zoe in action.

Catalyst Crime de Massacre Records es una banda de metal sinfónico cinematográfico internacional que comenzó a fines de 2017 como un proyecto entre el baterista de Xandria Gerit Lamm y la vocalista estadounidense Zoe Marie Federoff. Acompañado por el compositor orquestal y teclista Jonah Weingarten de Pyramaze, los guitarristas Chena Roxx y Kaelen Sarakinis, así como el bajista Matt Federoff, el proyecto rápidamente tomó forma en una banda completamente formada que mezcla los paisajes sonoros épicos del metal sinfónico, la intensidad oscura del death metal, y momentos de metal progresivo de espíritu libre. Tras conocer a la banda y escuchar el proyecto, Alexander Krull (Leaves ’Eyes, Atrocity) se unió con entusiasmo al equipo como productor y grabó el álbum debut homónimo en Mastersound Studios en Stuttgart, Alemania. Una introducción atmosférica, operística y épica, una buena obertura sinfónica.

Projection Of My Mind

Un inicio suave, atmosférico, muy épico sin duda, con una explosión de acordes y batería fuerte y contundente, la bella voz de Zoe se une haciendo combinación con un breve y fuerte gutural, metal sinfónico con unos excelentes teclados.

Condemn Me To Chaos

Iniciando con un suave manejo de teclados, suave, piano, atmosféricas épicas que después nos asalta con explosión en las guitarras y batería, cambios de velocidad y tempos, melódicos y pesados pero muy bien estructurados y elegantemente hechos.

Tenemos una entrada muy épica! Un gutural no tan profundo entra en el primer movimiento, con movimientos musicales teatrales que acompañan la bella voz de Zoe y la gutural en conjunto.

Una bella voz de fondo decora el inicio de esta canción, sumamente elegante al inicio, con dramatismo, tiene movimientos largos y lentos, acordes fuertes y constantes, una balada tenemos hasta el momento de forma muy bella hecha.

Un inicio muy explosivo, sonidos, melodía, ritmo y velocidad, power metal con mayor dosis! La voz combinada entre ambos le da un dramatismo más acentuado de manera genial.

Excelente inicio musical, Épico, potente y más fuerte, una de las canciones más densas, con un paso de tiempo más lento pero potente, con elementos de power metal como la anterior canción.

Chasing The Ghost

Un bello inicio musical, suave y limpio, piano y sonidos más claros donde la voz de Zoe reasalta en el primer instante! Otra bella balada nos dejan con mucha elegancia.

Un inicio suave acompañado de piano y teclados, que después una avalancha de acordes fuertes, melódicos y bien estructurados entran en acción en combinación de voces desgarradoras y la bella voz limpia y blanca de Zoe.

Power metal genial desde el inicio de la canción! Potencia y elegantemente estructurada, contundente en los cambios de ritmo y manteniendo la parte melódica bien hecha.

Cerrando casi este buen álbum de la banda, con fuerza, melodía y elegancia cinemática musical con esta canción melódicamente genial.

One And Counting (Outro)

Cerrando con coros fuertes, épicos y con una atmosfera heroica, como al inicio del álbum, las partes sinfónicas y operísticas con todo su esplendor.

Mi Recomendación

Catalystcrime álbum es un álbum bellamente hecho musicalmente, estructurado con mucho detalle, elementos sinfónicos, operísticos, épicos y heroicos en la parte de producción notables, Metal Sinfónico y Power metal engalanan todo el álbum, hay breves riffs, los acordes entre las guitarras muy bien mostradas con tempos alternados, entre rápidos y lentos, tenemos baladas si en dos canciones donde la bella voz de Zoe se expande de forma genial, tenemos estilos musicales notables en este álbum debut de Metal Sinfónico comparativo con los grandes exponentes como Xandria o Leaves’ Eyes, La introducción Sinfónica es buena y en muchas de ellas aparece, después el elemento de Power Metal hace presencia de manera variada, porque hay patrones musicales específicos que escuchamos con mayor periodo, así tenemos un álbum bellamente hecho, estructurado de manera sinfónica fenomenal con elementos de power metal sinfónico melódico muy bueno, para los fans del Metal Sinfónico los atrapara!
