About Helion Prime

It's been about two years since the band's sophomore release "Terror of the Cybernetic Space Monster" and Sacramento sci-fi power metallers Helion Prime returns with their third effort and the much shorter title "Question Everything" set for release on Monday, October 5th, 2020 via their label Saibot Reigns. This is Helion Prime's first album with new vocalist Mary Zimmer, who has also accompanied the band on two separate tours of the United States. It also sees the band's original singer, Heather Michele, returning in a writing capacity and contributing all lyrics and melodies. Heather Michele also along with other former Helion Prime vocalist Sozos Michael and with John Yelland (Judicator/Dire Peril) add their guest vocals on the full length.

The highly anticipated third record is a concept album, with each song revolving around different figures throughout human history who had the courage to question the status quo of their respective worlds/societies, in some cases even dealing with harsh persecution as a result. Those Helion Prime chose to write about-faced prejudice, mockery, ex-communication, and persecution - yet through it all, they held true to their beliefs and ideas. Time would be their greatest ally as their ideas and identities were eventually validated, oftentimes not until after their passing. They serve as an inspiration for all minds to continue thinking outside the box and staying true to themselves.

"Question Everything" is out worldwide on October 5th, 2020 via Saibot Reigns.

Melodic and harmonic musical entrance and the clean and clear voice of Mary assails us! In combination of masculine voice, rhythmic, catchy tempos and smooth chords

It starts with a fast and forceful chord / drum set, a melodic rhythm, Mary's voice in a new clean, clear and smooth facet! Sharp riffs and keyboards marked from the start.

A musical track with melody, greater concept and epic style! In the context of the style of power metal! Mary's voice adapts and with a certain intonation.

The Gadfly

We have an acoustic song and a melancholic background riff that opens the door with a greater rhythm and the style is still melodic with sharp and short riffs, there is forcefulness and catchy rhythms, I think there is a combination of interesting melodies here and it can be noticed.

Greater speed, short, fast percussions, thin, catchy and stylized chords! This song has more of the melodic stamp, and without leaving the riffs that give it that push along with the keyboards!

E Pur Si Muove

This song has a slightly different style, stronger chords and scales, forcefulness and with greater vocal extension from Mary, we heard it a little more from the beginning, here the keyboards are a little louder and a very noticeable screaming.

Words of The Abbot (ft. guest vocals John Yelland (Judicator, Dire Peril)

We start fast, fast and cutting chords, the drums with more presence and the combined voices give it an epic and classic style, fast riffs a song with a style more attached to heavy metal.

The Forbidden Zone

Keyboards, speed, chords in acute scales, which later relax the melody and a little speed when Mary's voice enters, with an extensive keyboard solo, a melodically great song.

Closing this album by Helión prime with his version of a Misfits song, melodic, catchy rhythms and the combination of male-female voices.

My Recomendation

An interesting album, it has a combination of melodies in some songs like the one I mentioned right there, this not all Power Metal bands can do it, it is usually more epic or orchestral, and this album does not do it like that, in fact it has Very good musical differences with European Power Metal, here we find the Riffs and hard ones a little more stylized, combined with other rhythmic scales, even a brief touch of the Thrash Metal style but without losing the melodic part and more heavy metal rhythms, it has a notable influence of classical elements of this musical style, but the voice is also what makes the difference and Mary Zimmer is an expert! The band from Sacramento, California, is one of the best exponents of North American power metal.

The Voice

Mary Zimmer is an amazing vocal teacher! And she has a formidable voice, a strong vibrato! And this facet with this musical style tells us about her perfect adaptation, which is her voice! We can listen to it in a very clean and smooth way and it reaches the scales and musical changes, but the vocal lines within the album are very determined and constant.

Han pasado aproximadamente dos años desde el segundo lanzamiento de la banda "Terror of the Cybernetic Space Monster" y los power metallers de ciencia ficción de Sacramento, Helion Prime, regresa con su tercer trabajo y el título mucho más corto "Question Everything" que se lanzará el lunes 5 de octubre. 2020 a través de su sello Saibot Reigns. Este es el primer álbum de Helion Prime con la nueva vocalista Mary Zimmer, quien también ha acompañado a la banda en dos giras separadas por Estados Unidos. También la cantante original de la banda, Heather Michele, regresando como escritora y contribuyendo con todas las letras y melodías. Heather Michele también junto con otro ex vocalista de Helion Prime, Sozos Michael y con John Yelland (Judicator / Dire Peril), agregan sus voces invitadas en toda la extencion.

Aquellos Helion Prime eligieron escribir sobre prejuicios, burlas, excomunión y persecución, pero a pesar de todo, se mantuvieron fieles a sus creencias e ideas. El tiempo sería su mayor aliado a medida que sus ideas e identidades fueran finalmente validadas, muchas veces no hasta después de su fallecimiento. Sirven de inspiración para que todas las mentes sigan pensando fuera de la caja y se mantengan fieles a sí mismos.

Inicia con un conjunto de acordes/batería rápida y contundente, un ritmo melódico, la voz de Mary en una nueva faceta limpia, clara y suave! Riffs agudos y teclados marcados desde el inicio.

Una pista musical con melodía, mayor concepto y estilo épico! En el contexto del estilo del power metal! La voz de Mary se adapta y con cierta entonación.

The Gadfly

Tenemos una canción acústica y un riff de fondo melancólico que abre la puerta con mayor ritmo y sigue siendo melódico el estilo con riffs agudos y breves, hay contundencia y ritmos pegadizos, creo que aquí hay combinación de melodías interesantes y se puede notar.

Una mayor velocidad, percusiones breves, rápidas, acordes finos, pegadizos y estilizados! Esta canción tiene más el sello melódico, y sin dejar los riffs que le dan ese empuje junto a los teclados!

E Pur Si Muove

Esta canción tiene un estilo un poco diferente, acordes y escalas más fuertes, contundencia y con mayor extensión vocal de Mary, la escuchamos un poco más desde el inicio, aquí los teclados son un poco más fuertes y un screaming muy notorio.

Iniciamos rápidos, veloces y acordes cortantes, la batería con mayor presencia y las voces combinadas le dan un épico estilo y clásico, riffs rápidos una canción con estilo más apegado al heavy metal.

Teclados, velocidad, acordes en escalas agudas, que posteriormente van relajando la melodía y un poco la velocidad cuando entra la voz de Mary, con un extenso solo de teclados, una canción melódicamente genial.

Inicia con un canto perfecto de Mary! Con mayor velocidad! Aquí hay Speed/Power Metal que animara a más de uno! Galope de batería, teclados y batería fuerte.

La canción acústica que nos muestra la voz de Mary en un inicio, ritmo variante de lento a un poco más rápido, en compañía de acordes fuertes y esos riffs en compañía de guitarra acústica.

Cerrando este albúm de Helión prime con su versión de una canción de Misfits, melódica, pegadizos ritmos y la combinación de voces masculina – femenina.

Mi Recomendación

Un albúm interesante, tiene combinación de melodías en algunas canciones como en la que mencione ahí mismo, esto no todas las bandas de Power Metal lo pueden hacer, común mente es más épico u orquestal, y este albúm no lo hace así, de hecho tiene diferencias musicales muy buenas con el Power Metal Europeo, aquí encontramos un poco más estilizados los Riffs y duros, combinación con otras escalas rítmicas, hasta un breve toque del estilo de Thrash Metal pero sin perder la parte melódica y ritmos más heavy metal, tiene una influencia notable de elementos clásicos de este estilo musical, pero la voz es las que hace también la diferencia y Mary Zimmer es experta! La banda procedente de Sacramento, California, es una banda dentro de los mejores exponentes del Power metal norteamericano.

La Voz

Mary Zimmer es una increíble maestra vocal! Y tiene una formidable voz, un vibrato fuerte! Y esta faceta con este estilo musical nos habla de su perfecta adaptación que es la voz de ella! La podemos escuchar de forma muy limpia, suave y alcanza las escalas y cambios musicales, pero las líneas vocales dentro del albúm son muy determinadas y constantes.
