Greetings ! my friends! Now our talented friend Carla van Huizen , lead singer of the band The Ventura gave me some words ! to know a little more about this great band ! and their success ! with his album La Ventura White Crow

 

La-Ventura is a Dutch female fronted melodic Metal/ Rock band founded in early 2007. With just one single out called “Trefoil”, it caught the eye of labels around the world, battling it out for an exclusive deal.

No problem, we appreciate having this oppertunity to let people see and know a bit more of the band through an interview. So fire away!

 

how's the band right now? How has this 2014 been for you ? what surprise there!

 

2014 has been really good to us! More and more progress has been booked, but most important: more people seem to know the band!

Through the social media especially we have found so many new people who in general enjoy music. Best part of all: they dig our music!

All the hard work done in 2013, is beginning to pay of, where we will do more and more on a grander schale. We still have a long way to go, but we have really nothing to complain about, only to be grateful!

 

the history of the band, when did the idea of forming La-Ventura? What does mean the name?

 

It means luck in Spanish. Something everyone in life should get at a certain point. Just to get that extra push to make it happen. Same for the band: without a bit of luck, we would not have been where we are right now. Let’s hope luck will favour us some more in the years to come...!

 

La-Ventura, could you tell us, How would you describe your music in your own words?, the essence?

Essence would be: heavy guitars with powerfull vocals, topped with groove and catchy tunes.

 

Where are your roots in which style of music, bands, musicians, singers what are your greatest influences?

 

All our roots are from so many different backgrounds, ranging from the heaviest of metal to the poppiest of Pop! I guess what makes us who we are, is the specific blend of styles coming from all the different backgrounds.

Though the music is heavy, we will treat you with some catchy chorusses which stick to the brain. Or send you on a wild goosechase where you end up in the unknown. Whatever tune we make or produce, it is and always will be La-Ventura.

 

What  is the source of inspiration to create such good songs and writing them?

 

First of: thanks for the great comments! We really dig it when people enjoy our music! If we hit it right and people can truly say, they like it, we know we have done a good job. 

Music is subjective: you either like what we do or don’t. We always hope we reach a wider range of listeners, but again it is up to you if you like it or not. 

For the group of people that likes what we do, we can truly say, that we try to do our best every time we enter the studio. We have made some catchy tunes on the “White Crow” and it seems people get it and like it. 

I guess for us the listener, the fan is our source of inspiration. Though we make music the way we like it, we never forget you guys. If we do not have you guys coming to our gigs, what is the point of making music. 

When we enter the studio and there is that spark, most of the tunes will come out right. You know it immediately when you do the playback, whether it has worked or not.

 

When it doesn’t work, just come up with something new, start fresh from scratch, aiming again for that spark!

 

Do you have to be in a special mood and/or do you need special ambience to be creative?

 

Yes,in some cases it is important to have the right vibe to begin with. We are not trained songwriters so to speak. We do not write song after song for other artist, to make money. That is not our work.

The songs we make are our own and have to be La-Ventura. To set out to do that, you need a vibe and then just a healthy dose  of creativity. After a few sessions, it will be clear what works or not.

With that you go to the next level to make it a real song.

 

Carla, your voice is great! Do you use vocal exercises to ensure that your voice is in adequate

shape? what is your vocal range my friend?

 

Thank you very much for your compliment! I definitly try to keep my voice in good shape. Escpecially in the periode towards  an upcoming gig I’ll work on my vocal skills and performance. It is also very important for me to warm up my voice before going on stage. My vocal range is approximately between C4-A5.

 

"White Crow" is your new album, is a good disk, What's behind the creative process and recording of White Crow? Are you satisfied with the big result?

 

You damn right we are satisfied with the end result! Not only we had the chance to record it the right way, we also had the best help in the studio from our producer Didier Chesneau who made our new sound. He not only understood the music, he understood us as band and as musicians.

The final steps were also done with the best in the bizz like Bruno Gruel, who did the mastering.

With both these magicians at work, we got so much more out of the songs then we could ever wish for.

Good tunes to start with, the right studio and equipment, the right partners as producer, mixer and mastering: the end result will be massive!

 

The new álbum has excellent songs, that have captivated us, but for you what are your favorite songs and why?

 

“Falling Down” is the real opener that shows the new La-Ventura. “Song for an Idiot” has all the right vibes to be catchy and to be long lasting. And there is “Time and Time Again” which will show how wide range this album is for an audience.

 

‘Drowning’  and  ‘Song For An Idiot’ Could you tell us a little bit more about the origin of this songs, about the lyrics, what is the story behind and why?

 

‘Drowning’ was written during my time when going through a divorce.  The words just came out, without any hesitation after I heard the mood and atmosphere of the song.  Sometimes writing lyrics can be a good theraphy.  ‘Song for An idiot’ on the other hand, was written long before we worked on the new album.  Accidently the words seemed to fit perfectly to the song. Or...perhaps I already had someone in mind? Who knows. However it is not my intention to hurt people personally, of course.

 

Are there any plans for a new video clip for one of the songs? Or other song?

 

Yes, there is at least one plan on the table. We hope to have the shoot taken part in the Summer. After that, it is fair game. If one of the labels wants one, then we hear about that soon I reckon;)!

 

about your live shows, how do you describe your staging?

 

Energetic and true: on stage you see and get La-Ventura who we are as musicians. When we are done with the gig and you see us at the merchandise stand, please do check us out and have a talk with us. There you will get to know the people behind La-Ventura. We are never shy for a talk and are genuinely interested in what you think of us. So come on over and check it out!

 

Finally, what is the difference between La-Ventura and other bands in your style?

 

Always hard to say something about that without hurting other people’s feelings. It never hurts if you play music in a specific style, cause you are good at it and it rewards you in the same manner.

For us, if people want to compare us with other bands, than please do. When you have listened to our tunes and get to know them a bit, you yourself will say that it is different in ways that you first would not expect. If that happens, it will be your answer. If not, again no problem, it is what it is. Just enjoy music in all it forms!

 

When to come at Latin America Tour?

 

Soon?! Hahahaha, depends if we can hook up with some strong partners and of course when we can offcially release an album there. Till that time... we just hope it will be SOON!

saludos!!! amigos! ahora nuestra talentosa amiga Carla van Huizen, vocalista de la banda La Ventura me concedio unas palabras! para saber un poco mas de esta gran banda! y su exito!!! con su album La Ventura White Crow

 

La- Ventura banda holandesa de Metal Melodico / Rock fundada a principios de 2007 . Con un solo sencillo llamado " trébol " , que llamó la atención de las etiquetas de todo el mundo!

 

Vamos a la Entrevista!

No hay problema, apreciamos esta oportunidad para dejar que la gente vea y conozca un poco mas de la banda a través de la entrevista. empecemos. 

 

Como esta la banda en este momento? como ha sido 2014 para ustedes?

 

2014 ha sido realmente muy bueno para nosotros, mas y mas progreso ha sido registrado, pero lo mas importante: parece que mas gente conoce a la banda!

A través de las redes sociales hemos encontrado mucha gente que en general disfruta nuestra música. La mejor parte de todo: Comprenden nuestra música.

Todo el trabajo hecho en 2013, esta comenzando a rendir frutos, nosotros seguiremos haciendo mas y mas y a mayor escala. Aun tenemos un largo camino por recorrer, pero realmente no tenemos nada de que quejarnos, solo de estar agradecidos.

 

Díganme, cual es la historia, de donde vino la idea de formar La-Ventura? Que significa el nombre?

 

Significa "suerte" en español. A veces en la vida debemos llegar a cierto punto que nos impulse para hacer que sucedan las cosas.

Lo mismo para la banda: sin un poco de suerte, no estaríamos en donde estamos ahora. Ojala la suerte nos favorezca un poco mas en los años.

 

La-Ventura, podrían decirnos, como describirían su música en sus propias? Cual es la esencia?

La esencia seria: guitarras pesadas con vocales poderosos y melodías pegadizas.

 

De donde provienen sus raíces? En que estilo de música, bandas, músicos, cantantes? Cuales son sus mayores influencias?

 

Todas nuestra raíces son de orígenes diferentes, suena desde lo mas pesado del metal hasta lo mas pop del pop. Supongo que lo que nos hace quien somos es la mezcla especifica de estilos provenientes de orígenes diferentes. Cualquier cosa que hagamos o produzcamos, es y siempre será La-Ventura.

 

Cual es su fuente de inspiración para crear tan buenas canciones y escribirlas?

 

Primero que nada, gracias por los comentarios nosotros realmente apreciamos que la gente disfrute nuestra música, cuando logramos ese hit y a la gente le gusta, así sabemos que hemos hecho un buen trabajo.

La música es subjetiva: te gusta o no te gusta lo que hacemos. Siempre tenemos la esperanza de alcanzar un rango mas elevado de escuchas, pero no depende de ti si les gustas o no.

Para el grupo de gente a las que les gusta lo que hacemos podemos decir, que tratamos de hacer lo mejor cada que entramos al estudio.

Hemos hecho coros pegajosos en "White crow" y parece gustarle a la gente. El fan es nuestra fuente de inspiración, hacemos nuestra música de forma que les guste, nosotros nunca los olvidamos.

Si la gente no va a nuestros conciertos, cual seria el punto de hacer música? Cuando entramos al estudio y esa chispa aparece, la mayoría de las canciones saldrán bien y sabes de inmediato si funcionara o no. 

  

Necesitan de un humor especial? O necesitan un ambiente especial para ser creativos?

 

Si, en algunos casos es importante tener la vibra correcta para empezar. Nosotros no estamos entrenados para escribir canción tras canción y cobrar por ello. Ese no es nuestro trabajo.

Las canciones que hacemos son nuestras y tienen que estar en La-Ventura, para hacerlo necesitas una vibra y después llega una saludable dosis de creatividad.

Después de unas cuantas sesiones, quedara claro lo que funciona o no. Con eso avanzas al siguiente nivel para convertirla en una canción real. 

 

Carla tu voz es increíble! Practicas algún tipo de ejercicios vocales para asegurarte de que tu voz este en adecuada forma? Cual es tu rango vocal?

 

Gracias por el cumplido! definitivamente trato de mantener mi voz en buena forma. Especialmente en los periodos cercanos a los conciertos, trabajo con mis habilidades vocales y mi interpretación.

Es también importante calentar la voz antes de ir al escenario, mi rango vocal es aproximadamente entre C4-A5.

 

"White crow" es su nuevo álbum, es un buen disco . Que hay detrás del proceso creativo y grabación de "White crow"? Están satisfechos con el resultado?

 

Estas es lo cierto, estamos satisfechos con el resultado final! No  solo tuvimos la oportunidad de grabarlo correctamente, también tuvimos la mejor ayuda en el estudio de nuestro productor Didier Chesneau, quien hizo nuestro nuevo sonido.

El no solo entiende la música, el nos entiende como banda y como músicos. Los pasos finales fueron hechos con Bruno Gruel quien hizo la masterizacion.

Con ese par de magos en el trabajo, obtuvimos mas de las canciones de lo que hubiéramos deseado.  Buenas canciones con las cuales empezar, un buen estudio, buen equipo, los compañeros correctos como lo son el productor, mezclador y masterizador, el resultado final será masivo.  

 

El nuevo álbum tiene excelentes canciones, que nos han cautivado pero para ustedes cuales son sus favoritas y por que?

 

"Falling down" es la que muestra al nuevo La-Ventura, "Song for an idiot" tiene las vibras correctas para atraparte y esta "Time and time again" que le enseñara a la audiencia el alto rango de nuestro album.

 

"Drowning" y "Song for an idiot" podrían decirnos un poco mas sobre el origen de estas canciones, sobre las letras, cual es la historia detrás y por que? 

 

"Drowning" fue escrito durante el tiempo en que atravesaba un divorcio, las palabras simplemente salieron. A veces escribir canciones puede ser buena terapia.

Por otro lado, "Song for an idiot" fue escrita tiempo antes de que trabajáramos en el álbum nuevo. Accidentalmente las palabras parecían encajar perfectamente con la canción, o quizá ya tenia a alguien en mente? Quien sabe, como sea no es mi intención lastimar a la gente.

 

Hay algún plan para un nuevo videoclip, para alguna de las canciones?

 

Si, hay al menos un plan sobre la mesa. Esperamos tener parte del rodaje en el verano.

 

Acerca de sus shows en vivo, como describirían su puesta en escena?

 

Bastante energética, en el escenario ustedes ven La-Ventura como los músicos que somos. Cuando terminemos con la presentación y nos vean en el stand de mercancía, por favor salúdennos y platiquen con nosotros. Así conocerán a la gente detrás La-Ventura.

Nunca somos tímidos para platicar y estamos genuinamente interesados en lo que piensan de nosotros, así que vengan y salúdennos.

 

Cuando harán un tour por Latino-américa?

Pronto?! hahaha, depende de si podemos asociarnos con algún compañero fuerte y por supuesto cuando oficialmente lancemos el disco ahí. Hasta que eso pase... solo esperemos que sea pronto.

 

Finalmente, Cual es la diferencia entre La-Ventura y otras bandas de su mismo estilo?

Siempre es difícil decir algo sobre eso, sin herir los sentimientos de otros. Eso no lastima si tocas música en un estilo especifico, por que eres bueno para eso y se te recompensa en la misma forma, pero si la gente quiere compararte con otras bandas entonces háganlo por favor.

Cuando has escuchado nuestros temas y los conoces un poco mas, tu mismo dirás que es diferente en maneras que no esperabas. Si es pasa, tendrás tu respuesta y si no, hazlo otra vez.

Las cosas como son. Solo disfruten de la música en todas sus formas.
