A bit of the Biography of the Band is back!

 

The band has toured throughout Mexico, visiting almost all cities, as well as a couple of festivals and tours visiting several countries such as Holland, Belgium and European France, sharing the stage with bands like Lacuna Coil, Epica, Tristania, Sirenia, After Forever, Leaves' Eyes, a / Die / for, Death Angel, metal Church, Macbeth, among many others.

 

After separating in 2012 and take a long break of two years, the band is back together to re-take the stage and create more music with the new album called "awakening" which will be released in August 2016!

Please Tell us, how have you been?

​

Fortunately i've been fine, thank you!

​

What have you been doing with the band?

​

We have focused in rehearse with the old material and also we are working on the new production of the EP. There'll be more surprises.

​

What plans do you have with the band? What are your solo plans with your musical career?

​

I want to keep being part of Legion while i can.

​

My plan is to keep growing up with the band in every aspect of my life.

​

Rick, Jesus, Daniel and Fernando are great musicians and great people of which i have much to learn.

​

Currently i don't have any solo project, i just want to keep improving musically and vocally.

​

Do you have other studies or projects? Do you have other job?

​

Yes indeed, i'm currently studying psychology at UNAM.

I recently joined to a researching of the neurobiology Lab of the Faculty Psychology.

I still have two years to finish my career but i would like to have studied many other things.

​

I don't have other job.

​

What are your hobbies?

​

I absolutely love to sing! I like watch tv shows, go to concerts or plays, reading, listen to music and go to the movies.

I like to meet people full of art and music, i like to know the story of every thing and every new place.

I like to share experiences with the people i love and meet new people, despite of being a little shy at first.

I have always wanted to learn to play an instrument but i'm a little bit lazy.

 

Who is Kat? With and without The Legion of Hetheria? What is your real name?

​

My real name is Katia Barrera.

With or without The Legion of Hetheria i'm just an ordinary person. I'm a little bit lonely.

​

I think that on and off the stage you have so much to learn and admire of the people, the things and the life in general.

The only noticeable difference is that when you are singing you feel that every problem goes away. Every emotion increases.

​

It's the perfect moment to appreciate and be thankful for life and all its wonders.

​

Please tell us, how has been your vocal training?

​

I started to sing in the choir of my elementary school. My teacher used to put music of 'Les Choristes' and i decided to learn more.

​

I was taking singing lessons in a  house of culture and then i met Anna Fiori, with who i took singing lessons for 2 years.

After that i met to Rick Loera and he is my teacher nowadays.

​

What has been of The Legion of Hetheria all this time?

​

I think i shouldn't speak for all but each member of the band took its own path.

​

Rick and Jesus have always been in the world of music and have many projects, despite the band took a break for a while.

The band returns with new members and new ideas.

​

What kind of surprises do you have for this 2016?

​

First, we have the release of the album 'Awakening' in different formats, also we have the live show at Circo Volador and many special guests.

​

​

Yes! we'll release an EP called 'Awakening'.

​

I think the lyrics are very important to reflect on what is currently happening in society.

There'll be a new video o tour?

​

Right now we don't have any tour but we are always willing to visit every place!

Un poco de la Biografía de la Banda que está de regreso!

 

La banda ha realizado giras por todo México, visitando casi todas las ciudades, así como un par de festivales y tours que visitan varios países como Holanda, Bélgica y Francia europeos, compartiendo escenario con bandas como Lacuna Coil, Epica, Tristania, Sirenia , After Forever, Leaves 'Eyes, a / Die / For, Death Angel, metal Church, Macbeth, entre muchos otros.

 

Después de separarse en 2012 y tomar un descanso largo de 2 años, la banda se encuentra de nuevo juntos para volver a tomar el escenario y crear más música, con el nuevo disco llamado "despertar", que será lanzado en agosto de 2016!

Estoy muy bien, afortunadamente, muchas gracias!

 

Que has hecho con la banda actualmente?

 

Nos hemos enfocado en ensayar el material viejo y se está trabajando en la producción del nuevo E.P así como en otras sorpresas.

 

Que planes has hecho tú con la banda y en tu carrera musical independientemente en un futuro próximo?

 

Con Legion tengo planeado seguir participando por tanto tiempo como se me permita, mi plan es seguir creciendo con la banda y en todo aspecto, Rick, Jesús, Daniel y Fernando son grandes músicos y  personas de las que siempre tengo mucho que aprender. Independientemente no tengo ningún proyecto planeado por ahora, sólo seguir preparándome vocal y musicalmente.

 

Tienes otros estudios? Otros proyectos o trabajo?

 

Así es. Actualmente estudio Psicología en la UNAM, recientemente entré a colaborar en una investigación del laboratorio de Neurología de la facultad de psicología. Me faltan dos años para terminar la carrera pero me habría gustado estudiar muchas otras cosas y no trabajo por ahora.

 

Cuáles son tus hobbies?

 

Me gusta cantar por supuesto, ver series, ir a conciertos u obras, leer, el cine, escuchar música, conocer gente llena de arte y música, conocer la historia de las cosas y de lugares nuevos, compartir experiencias con la gente que aprecio y al mismo tiempo conocer nuevas personas, aunque suelo ser muy tímida al principio. Siempre he querido aprender a tocar bien algún instrumento pero he sido bastante perezosa.

 

Quien es Kat, con Legion of Hetheria y sin Legion of Hetheria? Cuál es tu verdadero nombre?

 

Mi verdadero nombre es Katia Barrera. Creo que con Legion y sin Legion soy una persona común y corriente, soy un poco solitaria a veces pero tanto en el escenario como fuera siempre hay mucho que aprender y admirar de la gente, de las cosas y de la vida en general. La única diferencia perceptible para mi es que cuando canto cualquier problema desaparece, todas las emociones se incrementan y es el momento perfecto para valorar y agradecer por la vida y todas sus maravillas.

 

Cuéntanos cómo ha sido tu entrenamiento vocal?

 

Empecé a cantar en el coro de la primaria jaja, mi profesor de música nos ponía piezas de “Les Choristes” y descubrí que quería aprender mucho más, estuve tomando clases de canto un tiempo en la casa de la cultura y después conocí a Anna Fiori, con quien tomé clases un par de años, después conocí a Rick Loera y hasta la fecha es mi profesor de canto.

 

Que ha sido de Legion of Hetheria en todo este tiempo?

 

Creo que no debo hablar por todos pero pienso que cada integrante tomó el camino que debía, Rick y Jesús siempre se mantuvieron en el mundo de la música y en diferentes proyectos a pesar de que la banda tomó un descanso por un tiempo, pero regresó con algunos nuevos integrantes y nuevas ideas.

 

Qué sorpresas nos tiene Legion of Hetheria en este 2016?

 

De entrada el lanzamiento del álbum “Awakening” en diferentes formatos, así como la presentación del mismo en vivo en el Circo Volador, también tendremos invitados especiales en ambas partes así que estén atentos en las redes :)

 

 

Algún nuevo álbum? Un adelanto!

​

Efectivamente pronto lanzaremos un E.P llamado “Awakening” y puedo decir que con cada letra habrá mucho que reflexionar sobre lo que pasa actualmente en la sociedad.

 

Algún nuevo video o Tour en puerta?

 

Por el momento no tenemos ningún tour planeado, pero siempre estamos dispuestos a visitar cualquier lugar :) pero vienen varias sorpresas!

 

Algún dueto sorpresa, con alguien en especial?

 

Puedo decir que les gustará mucho lo que viene en el nuevo álbum jaja, sí contaremos con sorpresas muy especiales :)

 

Algo más que nos quieras compartir?
