Against Myself was formed in Argamasilla de Alba, Ciudad Real (Spain) and later Elizabeth joined as singer of the band Against Myself and is also the lead singer of the band Unliving Sin, of the singing style Metal opera, Opera and Metal, Born On January 12, 1994 in Tomiño, (GALICIA), Elizabeth began her violin studies at the conservatory at 13. After 3 years of studying the instrument, she focused on singing, delving into classical singing.
Since then, she has been the winner and finalist of several competitions at the regional level and has been a vocalist for several Galician bands. She will tell us a little more about her story!

Elizabeth
Thank you!! The truth is that both my loved ones and I are fine! I'm going through the quarantine as you can hahahaha!

Tell us a bit about yourself! We only know that you are the voice of this super symphonic / progressive metal band from Spain! How did your passion for music start?
Elizabeth
The truth is that since my childhood my family encouraged me to become interested in music, my grandfather played the trumpet as a young man and they have always instilled in me that music is one of the treasures that human beings have.
In Spain they have quite a few excellent singers! Within Female Metal, like my dear Lady Angellyca, Diva Satanic, Zuberoa Aznarez, Irene Villegas, Ailyn among other greats and now you! How do you feel about being in this scene?
Elizabeth
Well the truth is that it is an honor to be related to great voices like those mentioned. I consider myself a fan of some of the vocalists you have mentioned and I have even had the pleasure of making contact with some of them, therefore being on that kind of list is a pleasure and makes me very happy.

Are your Musical Influences varied or only Symphonic Metal?
Elizabeth
It is correct that my main and strongest influence is symphonic metal, but apart from that I also really enjoy other genres, such as opera, death metal or, for example, metalcore. On the other hand, I don't pout at almost any musical style.
What attracts you, is passionate about Symphonic Metal?
Elizabeth
It could be defined as the perfect union between two styles of music that sound so different separately. We have the majesty and elegance of cultured music and opera united with the strength and energy of metal, being a perfect combination to feel the power of the hardest melodies without losing the delicacy.

Do you have a male and female vocal Icon? Which are?
Elizabeth
My main male icons are Leo Jimenez, Serj Tankian and Ruben Kelsen, while the female ones are Amy Lee, Marcela Bovio, Mónica Naranjo and Floor Jansen.
What other projects do you have besides these two bands with which you are Against Myself and Unliving Sin?
Elizabeth
I have a project that is currently stopped due to current circumstances with the keyboard player and founder of Unliving Sin, Héctor. It is a much calmer project and focused on acoustic themes.
Tell us the story of how you joined the Against Myself band?
Elizabeth
It is a funny subject, I did not have in mind to present myself to the test since I resided quite far from the other components. But my already named friend, Héctor, also a fan of the band, insisted that I introduce myself ... and here we are!
In addition to the song, will you participate in the lyrics of the new songs with Against Myself?
Elizabeth
Effectively. Personally I would like the new lyrics of the songs to have a bit of each one of us. In principle I am going to write the lyrics myself, but it has been made clear that if anyone has any idea or lyrics, everything is welcome and everything necessary will be done to please everyone in the band.
What emotions dominated Elizabeth when performing on stage? Rudeness, Joy, Surprise, Anger or?
Elizabeth
It is a complicated question! Many times it depends on the day, how the week has gone or the mood in which you have got up. For now I have been lucky enough to feel very energetic in general, even when I am sick, I have given my all in each concert. The emotions I feel can be summed up in adrenaline, illusion, joy, nerves and a lot of strength to give more than 100%.
Do you have any album, single in progress or in trial being in this period of quarantine?
Elizabeth
Currently Against Myself we are working on a new album, with surprises that I still cannot anticipate. For now, I can say that we have just released a new single, we have spent months with it waiting to see the light, but due to the current situation of the pandemic we have had to delay the release. It is a special song for the band, because it marks a before and after, a new beginning, a new journey and we are very excited to see where it takes us.
Do you have any direct online on any social network?
Elizabeth
The truth is that we have debated it several times, but it is finding it very difficult since some of us work and others are in the final stage of the studies, so it is very difficult to be able to launch a live performance, at least all together. The truth is that we would love to be able to give content right now.
What would you say to your fans in this new era of the band, what do you tell them?
Elizabeth
I tell you from the heart that I myself am a person who finds it hard to accept changes, that I fully understand that the new sound may be strange at first, but honestly, the more I listen to it, the more I like it! The new era brings musical evolution, not only the voice is different, but also the members have grown and we have learned many things to be able to give fans quality music. So I would only like fans to listen to the new with the same enthusiasm as the previous works, albums that I also love.

Elizabeth
Against Myself has given me the opportunity to grow musically, professionally and also personally. I have met wonderful people on this journey and I hope it will be in my life for a long time, just as I hope that readers, fans, listeners and anyone who likes music, loves our work as much as we do.

Against Myself fue formado en Argamasilla de Alba, Ciudad Real (España) y más tarde Elizabeth se unió como cantante de la banda Against Myself y también es la vocalista de la banda Unliving Sin, del estilo de canto Metal ópera, Opera y Metal, Nacida el 12 de enero de 1994 en Tomiño, (GALICIA), Elizabeth comenzó sus estudios de violín en el conservatorio a los 13. Tras 3 años de estudio del instrumento se centró en el canto, profundizando en canto clásico.
Desde entonces ha resultado ganadora y finalista de varios concursos a nivel autonómico y ha sido vocalista de varias bandas gallegas. Ella nos dirá un poco más de su historia!

Cuéntanos un poco sobre ti! Solo sabemos que eres la voz de esta súper banda de Metal Sinfónico/Progresivo de España! Como comenzó tu pasión por la música?
Elizabeth
Lo cierto es que ya desde pequeña mi familia me incitó a interesarme por la música, mi abuelo tocaba la trompeta de joven y siempre me han inculcado que la música es uno de los tesoros que tiene el ser humano.
En España tienen bastantes cantantes excelentes! Dentro del Female Metal, como mi querida Lady Angellyca, Diva Satánica, Zuberoa Aznarez, Irene Villegas, Ailyn entre otras grandes y ahora tú! Que sientes de estar dentro de esta escena?
Elizabeth
Pues la verdad es que es un honor ser relacionada con grandes voces como las mencionadas. Me considero fan de algunas de las vocalistas que has mencionado e incluso he tenido el placer de establecer contacto con alguna de ellas, por lo tanto estar en dicha especie de lista es todo un placer y me hace estar muy feliz.

Tus Influencias Musicales son variadas o solo Metal Sinfónico?
Elizabeth
Es correcto que mi principal y más fuerte influencia es el metal sinfónico, pero a parte también disfruto mucho de otros géneros, como la ópera, el death metal o por ejemplo el metalcore. Por otra parte no le pongo mala cara a casi ningún estilo musical.
Que es lo que te atrae, apasiona del Metal Sinfónico?
Elizabeth
Podría definirse como la unión perfecta entre dos estilos de música que suenan tan diferentes de manera separada. Tenemos la majestuosidad y elegancia de la música culta y la ópera unidos con la fuerza y energía del metal, siendo una combinación perfecta para sentir el poder de las melodías más duras sin perder la delicadeza.

Tienes un Icono vocal masculino y femenino? Cuáles son?
Elizabeth
Mis principales iconos masculinos son Leo Jimenez, Serj Tankian y Ruben Kelsen, mientras que los femeninos son Amy Lee, Marcela Bovio, Mónica Naranjo y Floor Jansen.
Que otros proyectos tienes además de estas dos bandas con las que estas Against Myself y Unliving Sin?
Elizabeth
Tengo un proyecto que se encuentra actualmente parado debido a las circunstancias actuales con el teclista y fundador de Unliving Sin, Héctor. Es un proyecto mucho más calmado y centrado en temas acústicos.
Cuéntanos la historia del cómo te uniste a la banda de Against Myself?
Elizabeth
Es un tema gracioso, no tenía en mente presentarme a la prueba puesto que yo residía bastante lejos de los demás componentes. Pero mi ya nombrado amigo, Héctor, también fan de la banda, me insistió para que me presentara… y aquí estamos!
Además del Canto, serás participe en la letra de las nuevas canciones con Against Myself?
Elizabeth
Efectivamente. Personalmente me gustaría que las nuevas letras de los temas tuvieran un pedacito de cada uno de nosotros. En principio voy a escribir yo las letras, pero se ha dejado claro que si alguien tiene cualquier idea o letra, todo es bienvenido y se hará lo necesario para contentar a todos en la banda.
Que emociones dominaran a Elizabeth al momento de presentarse en el escenario? Rudeza, Alegría, Sorpresa, Ira o?
Elizabeth
Es una pregunta complicada! Muchas veces depende del día, de cómo ha ido la semana o del humor con el que te has levantado. Por ahora he tenido la suerte de sentirme con mucha energía en general, incluso estando enferma, he dado todo de mi en cada concierto. Las emociones que siento se pueden resumir en adrenalina, ilusión, alegría, nervios y mucha mucha fuerza para dar más del 100%.
Tienen algún albúm, sencillo en marcha o en ensayo estando en este periodo de cuarentena?
Elizabeth
Actualmente Against Myself estamos trabajando en un nuevo disco, con sorpresas que aún no puedo adelantar. Por lo de pronto, puedo decir que acabamos de sacar nuevo sencillo, llevamos meses con él esperando a ver la luz, pero debido a la situación actual de la pandemia hemos tenido que retrasar el estreno. Es una canción especial para la banda, porque marca un antes y un después, uno nuevo comienzo, un nuevo viaje y estamos muy ilusionados por ver a donde nos lleva.
Tienen pensado algún directo on line por alguna red social?
Elizabeth
Lo cierto es que lo hemos debatido varias veces, pero nos está resultando muy complicado puesto que algunos trabajamos y otros están en la etapa final de los estudios, por lo que es muy difícil poder poner en marcha algún directo, al menos todos juntos. La verdad es que nos encantaría poder dar contenido en estos momentos.
Que les dirías a tus fans en esta nueva era de la banda, que les comentas?
Elizabeth
Les digo de corazón que yo misma soy una persona a la que le cuesta aceptar los cambios, que comprendo perfectamente que el nuevo sonido puede ser extraño al principio, pero sinceramente, cuanto más lo escucho, más me gusta! La nueva era trae evolución musical, no sólo la voz es diferente, sino que también los integrantes hemos crecido y hemos aprendido muchas cosas para poder dar a los fans música de calidad. Así que solamente me gustaría que los fans escucharan lo nuevo con las mismas ganas que los anteriores trabajos, discos que a mí, también me encantan.

Against Myself me ha dado la oportunidad de crecer musicalmente, profesionalmente y también personalmente. He conocido a personas maravillosas en este camino y espero que esté en mi vida por mucho tiempo, así como espero que a los lectores, fans, oyentes y cualquier persona a la que le guste la música, ame nuestro trabajo tanto como nosotros.
