Formed in 2019 in Stuttgart by Jay-G, drums (Shining, Sharon), Elkie Gee, vocals (Ampyre, Antares) and Sorin Badin, a well-known Romanian guitarist (Cardinal, Samsara, Crystal Maze) under the name FRONT ROW WARRIORS, they completed the formation in 2020 with Richie Seibel, keyboards, (Lanfear, Ivanhoe, Them) and Timo Michels, bass, (5th Season, Pump). In the summer of 2022, guitarist Stef Binnig-Gollub (Septagon) joined the multiple capable MELODIC METAL band.

The band's goal is to take the audience on a musical journey through the era of Hard Rock and Metal of the past 30 years, creating catchy hooks that immediately inspire you to sing along. The whole thing impresses with outstanding guitar and keyboard work as well as deeply exceptional, uplifting lead vocals. Each band member represents one of the many styles and influences that make up the music of FRONT ROW WARRIORS.

The results were impressive, and the band was voted Germany's best Hard Rock band in 2021 by the German Rock and Pop Musicians Association.

The successful mixture of AOR and Hard Rock inspired by the 80s and 90s, up-tempo numbers - partly very close to classic Melodic Metal - and epic ballads can now be found on the highly anticipated debut album under the title "Wheel Of Fortune", which was produced by Michael Bormann, co-produced and mixed by Achim Köhler. The mastering was done by Patrick W. Engel. The renowned book and cover illustrator Uwe Jarling crowned this absolutely fantastic release with an awesome cover artwork. All well known names, which did each a great job for a great formation!

My Recomendation

The album released by the band a few months ago is vintage, melodic, a classic of eighties Melodic/Heavy Metal! The introduction is entering with the beautiful voice of Elkie and sounds of chords and keyboards, then in Chasing Shadows it starts in a phenomenal way with that melodic rhythm and the chords and with the super voice of Elkie, soft, light and with a beautiful register, comparable to the great Doro! In short, we can find super riffs full of energy, explosive solos and vocals in the style of old school Heavy Metal from the 80s! 12 tracks with a combination of AOR and Melodic Metal, the key point here is Elkie in his melodic voice, “Wheel of Fortune”, is an album with those vintage hooks and choruses, like in “Dystopian Time” with that style a little heavier on the guitars, or in the same song that bears the name of the album, with a slightly faster rhythm where the spotlight is taken by Elkie's beautiful voice! And to finish softly and a little different from the rest of the album with an acoustic ballad “Wasted Life” with the style of many bands of that time, like Doro herself, Lita Ford, or Scorpions.

Formada en 2019 en Stuttgart por Jay-G, batería (Shining, Sharon), Elkie Gee, voz (Ampyre, Antares) y Sorin Badin, conocido guitarrista rumano (Cardinal, Samsara, Crystal Maze) bajo el nombre FRONT ROW WARRIORS. , completaron la formación en 2020 con Richie Seibel, teclados, (Lanfear, Ivanhoe, Them) y Timo Michels, bajo, (5th Season, Pump). El álbum lanzado por la banda hace pocos meses es de época, melódico, un clásico del Melodic/Heavy Metal ochentero! La introducción es entrando con la bella voz de Elkie y sonidos de acordes y teclados, depues en Chasing Shadows se arranca de manera fenomenal con ese ritmo melódico y los acordes y con la super voz de Elkie, suave, ligera y con un registro hermoso, comparable con la gran Doro! En resumen, podemos encontrar súper riffs llenos de energía, solos explosivos y voces al estilo de la vieja escuela del Heavy Metal de los 80! 12 pistas con una combinación de AOR y Metal melódico, el punto clave aquí es Elkie en su melódica voz, “Wheel of Fortune”, es un álbum con esos ganchos y estribillos de época, como en “Dystopian Time” con ese estilo un poco más pesado en las guitarras, o en la misma canción que lleva el nombre del álbum, con un ritmo un poco más rápido donde el protagonismo se lo lleva la bella voz de Elkie! Y para finalizar de manera suave y un poco distinto al resto del álbum con una balada en acústico “Wasted Life” con ese estiló de muchas bandas de esa época, como la misma Doro, Lita Ford, o Scorpions.
