Melodic Symphonic Metal From Finland! With a new voice! With you Krista Schröter!

Krista Schröter is the new vocalist of the symphonic metal band Memoira. Chosen from over 30 applications, Schröter convinced the band with her live-performance, work ethic, charisma and strong voice.

"I felt their songs hit me from the first hearing and I felt that I was longing to return to metal once again. Memoira is a combination of music that strucks and a great group of right minded people with great attitude. With this concept, I feel great to start conquering the stages. When I met the whole band for the first time, I knew I was home."

The Band is also releasing their first new single together titled "CRYONIC HEART" where Schröter's voice can be heard for the first time. "CRYONIC HEART" will be released later this Fall. Memoira is also returning to the stages in October and also releasing new music throughout the next year.

Hello! Krista! Thank you very much for this interview!

Tell us about yourself! Who are you Krista? Your hobbies?

Krista:

I am a Finnish German music pedagogy student from Tampere, but born in Vantaa near Helsinki. In addition to music I like to do handicraft and work with my german shepherd dog Wolfgang.

What are your influences within metal? Do you have other musical tastes?

Krista:

In metal I really love Nightwish, Battle Beast and Within Temptation. I am also a fan of schlager music, but that is perhaps my dark side. I also listen to classical music.

Do you have a favorite singers?

Krista:

My favorite singers are not very surprisingly Tarja Turunen, Floor Jansen, Noora Louhimo and Sharon den Adel

How do you feel being in this super band?

Krista:

Great. The spirit in this band is strong and awesome. Can’t wait for all the projects and gigs that are coming now.

I know they already have a new single with you! CRYONIC HEART, tell us how the production was?

Krista:

It was new, very interesting and fun! I have never before done something this big in a studio with a band. We started choosing the first song with me from our demo library. After that we had to arrange it and record all the instruments and vocals. I can’t wait for you to hear it!

Are you working on another single? Are you working on a new album? What kind of style will this new album have? Any surprise?

Krista:

We have some new singles ready, but we will see how the new song works. It will show us some direction for the future!

What do you have in mind, Krista, with the band? Write some song?

Krista:

Yes, write some songs and do my best to spread the word of Memoira to the world.

What are Krista's immediate goals for this year's end?

Krista:

At this moment I look very much forward to all the gigs that are still coming this year and I will give my all on the stage. But of course we already have our eyes on the next year.

Anything else you want to share with us about your band or any surprises of yours?

Krista:

I am so happy that Memoira chose me. They are just wonderful people, very motivated and inspiring! This could be some kind of surprise: actually I am a classical singer.
