LOVELORN DOLLS is a Belgian band in the Gothic / Synth Rock genre. Fans describe it as a mix of Theatre of Tragedy, Lacuna Coil and The Birthday Massacre, released on the label ALFA MATRIX. Welcome my friend! I'm glad to hear from you again!
How have you been Kristell? How about these years and during the Pandemic?
Kristell:
Hi ! I'm doing well. Very busy lately with the release of the EP. Where have I been for 5 years? Well I stopped singing completely and devoted myself to visual arts and photography (www.kristellinwonderland.com). I have had exhibitions in Europe. I discovered other artistic worlds. It did me a lot of good. This was rather good timing during the pandemic because it is rather solitary work, which does not require bringing together a team.
Darkzen: Woow! Congratulations, another new facet for you!
How do you feel being back on stage?
Kristell:
Lovelorn Dolls are back but not on stage yet. It's quite exciting to see your listeners again, especially since people are quite happy to see us again; we are like old friends who haven't been together for a long time but still love each other!
Tell us about your new Beautiful Chaos EP! The description is as follows: "Beautiful Chaos" is an ode to love stories gone wrong, injecting some beautiful chaos into everyone's life. "Any resemblance to real people is purely coincidental"...The lyrics and musical composition, did you write the songs?
Kristell:
Lovelorn Dolls is a duo. So we compose, we write together. We often base ourselves on what we have experienced, or stories we have heard, or current events that are not always happy.
The electro that your new songs have sounds great! melodic! Modern and dark, do you have a favorite song and tell us why?
Kristell:
The EP still features the same song, but remixed by different artists. Our version is synth-rock, and the others more electro. We love all the songs on this EP. This shows a different side and mood of the song.
The darkness and melody can be felt and heard from the first song of your new EP! Your voice still sounds great! What does the EP cover mean? It looks pretty and at the same time scary.
Kristell:
THANKS ! I wanted to represent a “pretty chaos” in which a little girl finds herself mired. This will probably remind you of Alice in Wonderland, when she falls into the burrow.
Are you making another video for this new EP?
Kristell:
Yes, our video was just released a few days ago, it shows chaotic characters, in an asylum room. Chaos also happens in the head...
I know you are in the process of making a new album "Deadtime Stories", what could you tell us about it?
Kristell:
There is so much to say. We are already very proud of the final result. The visuals and the music come together really well, we really pushed to the limit of what we could do and give creatively. In addition, we have high-level guest singers. But we still leave the suspense hanging...
Dates my friend! Do you have any tour or presentation in your country?
Kristell:
No, no concert dates yet.
Some online event maybe! Although the pandemic is over, I think it could be an alternative for fans again, what do you think?
Kristell:
Yes, we will definitely have an online release party for the release of the album. As our fans are mainly abroad, this is the easiest for us.
Anything else you want to tell us about your new EP or share?
Kristell:
Yes, I invite our listeners, our fans to talk about us and our music. Often we are asked: "When are you going to California? Mexico? UK?" To make the organizers want to bring us, the fanbase has to work hard and show great motivation.
What are the goals that Lovelorn Dolls and our friend Kristell have as a band in 2024?
Kristell:
We're going to spend a good part of the year promoting our new album. We're going to do music videos, photoshoots, collaborations. We are open to all suggestions!

¿Cómo has estado Kristell? ¿Qué tal estos años y durante la Pandemia?
Kristell:
Hola ! Estoy bien. Muy ocupada últimamente con el lanzamiento del EP. ¿Dónde he estado durante 5 años? Bueno dejé de cantar por completo y me dediqué a las artes visuales y la fotografía (www.kristellinwonderland.com ). He tenido exposiciones en Europa. Descubrí otros mundos artísticos. Me hizo mucho bien. Fue un buen momento durante la pandemia porque se trata de un trabajo bastante solitario, que no requiere formar un equipo.
Darkzen: Woow! ¡Felicidades otra faceta nueva para ti!
¿Cómo te sientes al volver a los escenarios?
Kristell:
Lovelorn Dolls están de regreso, pero aún no están en el escenario. Es muy emocionante volver a ver a sus oyentes, especialmente porque la gente está muy feliz de vernos de nuevo; ¡Somos como viejos amigos que no han estado juntos durante mucho tiempo, pero aún se aman!
¡Cuéntanos sobre tu nuevo EP Beautiful Chaos! La descripción es la siguiente: "Beautiful Chaos" es una oda a las historias de amor que salen mal, inyectando un hermoso caos en la vida de todos. "Cualquier parecido con personas reales es pura coincidencia"...La letra y la composición musical, ¿escribiste las canciones?
Kristell:
Lovelorn Dolls es un dúo. Entonces componemos, escribimos juntos. A menudo nos basamos en lo que hemos vivido, en historias que hemos escuchado o en acontecimientos actuales que no siempre son felices.
¡Suena genial el electro que tienen tus nuevas canciones! ¡melódico! Moderno y oscuro, ¿tienes una canción favorita y cuéntanos por qué?
Kristell:
El EP todavía incluye la misma canción, pero remezclada por diferentes artistas. Nuestra versión es synth-rock, y las otras más electro. Nos encantan todas las canciones de este EP. Esto muestra un lado y un estado de ánimo diferentes de la canción.
¡La oscuridad y la melodía se pueden sentir y escuchar desde la primera canción de tu nuevo EP! ¡Tu voz todavía suena genial! ¿Qué significa la portada del EP? Se ve bonita y al mismo tiempo aterrador.
Kristell:
¡GRACIAS! Quería representar un “bonito caos” en el que se encuentra sumida una niña. Probablemente esto te recuerde a Alicia en el país de las maravillas, cuando cae en la madriguera.
¿Estás haciendo otro vídeo para este nuevo EP?
Kristell:
Sí, nuestro video se lanzó hace unos días y muestra personajes caóticos en una sala de asilo. El caos también ocurre en la cabeza...
Sé que estás en el proceso de hacer un nuevo álbum "Deadtime Stories", ¿qué podrías contarnos al respecto?
Kristell:
Hay mucho qué decir. Ya estamos muy orgullosos del resultado final. Las imágenes y la música se combinan muy bien, realmente llevamos al límite lo que podíamos hacer y dar creativamente. Además, contamos con cantantes invitados de alto nivel. Pero aún dejamos el suspenso en el aire...
¡Fechas mi amiga! ¿Tienes alguna gira o presentación en tu país?
Kristell:
No, aún no hay fechas de conciertos.
¡Quizás algún evento en línea! Aunque la pandemia ya pasó, creo que podría volver a ser una alternativa para los fanáticos, ¿qué opinan?
Kristell:
Sí, definitivamente tendremos una fiesta de lanzamiento en línea para el lanzamiento del álbum. Como nuestros fans están principalmente en el extranjero, esto es lo más fácil para nosotros.
¿Algo más que quieras contarnos sobre tu nuevo EP o compartir?
Kristell:
