THE LITTLE STORY OF BIG MADNESS

DemUnillusions is an orchestral metal band formed on January 1, 2020 in an ice city at the end of the world. They are a band from nowhere. Band without a country. They are simply from this world. The group's sound comprises pure male and female vocals, along with unusual orchestrations.

Hello friends! Thank you very much for the interview! How are you?

DemUnillusions:

Hello! Thank you for this opportunity! We are working hard in the studio right now on the show and on recording vocals, as well as developing a small EP of ballads.

Tell us the musical concept of your band?

DemUnillusions:

Over time, somehow, we came to the themes of freedom and madness in contemporary creativity. But also ideas about scientifically significant events or music history mature. Maybe in the future we will do some kind of musical research in the form of a multi-genre symphonic album.

What does the band name mean?

DemUnillusions:

In fact, it's a play on words.

"Demon of Illusions" or "Demonillusions" + "Unillusion". The result is "DemUnillusions." We always start our shows wearing masks, but we take them off at the very beginning, emphasising the rejection of illusions and the desire to be real. That's what we encourage everyone to do.

The style is good Symphonic Orchestral Metal and I also hear that you have darker?

DemUnillusions:

We always work with an orchestra. It's a priority. That's the goal. We are interested in making every track so that the orchestra is a full participant. Even if we go by genres, the orchestra has to be there. And metal!

Each track has a separate standalone symphonic version without vocals, because we think orchestral music is highly underrated. And this can give people a chance to hear what an orchestra can do when it doesn't just help the band sound, but when its parts are absolutely self-sufficient.

Of course, we are not professionals, there are absolutely incredible composers who work with metal and orchestra, like Tuomas Holopainen, for example. But we try. Hopefully our approach and melodies will find people, maybe draw the listener in to the depth that can be in the music underneath the layers.

Ayracsana, what does this name mean?

Ayracsana:

This word doesn't exist and it was invented by us as a name for the twisted and twisted conscience of every human being. the idea was originally connected only with the album "Madness " which we are recording. So there's an actual character called "Conscience". But in the end, the concept of a wounded conscience and the make-up that reflects it seemed worthy of making it permanent.

To be honest the name itself was formed from my real name "Anastasia" and the word "scar" - "Anascarya". But after all the thought is in a twisted, twisted conscience, so we reflected the word and got "Ayracsana".

Ayracsana, What are your musical influences?

Ayracsana:

In my youth, I was very fond of classical music and specific instruments: piano and violin. For a long time, I didn't have a definite taste, but these particular instruments made me awe. When I was a little bit older, I got to know Nightwish, but I didn't pay much attention to them and just listened to heavy stuff. I remember like now, I'm 12 years old, I go to school and Dethklok is playing in my headphones. As I got to know the musicians in my band and got into their work, my love for orchestral instruments grew. The way they can be combined with each other and then also with metal fascinated me completely. I'm interested in different styles: reggae, cabaret, flamenco, dubstep, but symphonies have a special place in my heart.

Ayracsana, your style and that mask is scary and psycho! I love it, because of that look?

Ayracsana:

Thank you! Yes, that's the message we were going for. A little bit of madness! And, as I wrote above, this image is completely dictated by the concept and meaning of the image - the scars are an integral part.

Your new video Dead Dreams Man is great, natural with both male and female voices, what is this song based on?

DemUnillusions:

Thank you very much!

It's one of the tracks of the upcoming album, and it's very conceptual. I can't fully reveal the character, otherwise it would be a spoiler to the plot of the album. But one of the characters is "Conscience", who gets into an argument with the antagonist. Of course, the lyrics are dictated by the plot of the album. We also allowed ourselves to make a easter egg to "Alice in Wonderland" in it. The search for this easter egg is on your shoulders!

Are you working on another single?

DemUnillusions:

Oh... Now we are working on recording the vocals to the album and mixing it.

We have also filmed some more live videos from rehearsals and will release them gradually as soon as we can finalize the editing.

Two singles "Who Are You Now With?" and "Far Away" should be released very soon. After that we will release a 6 track EP "Dawn of Recharge" which will include these singles and previous singles and other versions.

We have also filmed 2 lyric videos which will be released in support of the EP and singles. And we have started working on a 6 track EP of ballads which will include an alternative version of the track Edges and 5 more brand new ballads.

Are you also working on any other videos?

DemUnillusions:

Yeah. We film things all the time. It's not a fact that everything will be realised, but we are working on lyric videos, live rehearsal videos of songs for the future album, and playtrought videos for drums and guitar. What will be released, in what order and when - it's hard to say, because we have to do everything ourselves, without hiring any cameramen.

The live video of their rehearsal is also great on Freakshow! Among other songs, it also has Edges that are too different in musical style, why are there such marked differences?

DemUnillusions:

We believe that the main feature of our style is the orchestra, so there are no particular differences in that sense. But we don't tie ourselves to unequivocally heavy tracks or light tracks.

The song Edges is a track in memory of our deceased friend. This track was written by him once, and after his death we released it as a cover with a symphonic arrangement. Maybe that played a big role in the perception and the way it sounds.

Dates for some live performances?

DemUnillusions:

Unfortunately no. At the moment we don't have the financial ability to organise concerts or a tour. We are preparing for it tirelessly. But we lack some equipment, the ability to organise a tour.

Do you have any dark surprises for us?

DemUnillusions:

Of course, we do!

We have a lot of fabulous ideas for shows, some of which have already been realized and are waiting to hit the stage. We have a lot of enthusiasm for the album and hope to collaborate with some big names, if we can organize a connection and a record. Oh yeah, I think we won't disappoint metalheads if we get the chance one day.

DemUnillusions:

I don't want to be pompous, but we really do need the support. It's invaluable. We have hit the ceiling of our financial possibilities, so spreading information about us, word of mouth, listener's love will help us further. we have Patreon - and even the smallest and symbolic subscription to it will do the trick. After all, that small thing from one, from a crowd of fans is our future.
