Official Info

In 2015, Skeptical Minds released something special : the first episod of a trilogy called OMEGA THANATOS. They released the same story in a comic book (56 pages) and a full CD (11 tracks) sold together. This is a major success. Fans and Media reactions are generally very positive.

September 2017 : to celebrate their 15 years of existence, the band just released a double live DVD with two full concerts recorded in two famous belgian festivals and some bonus. (sept 2017).

The band is now ready to release the second episod of the “OMEGA THANATOS” trilogy called “KHARON” (full album + comicbook) The album was recorded and produced by FOTIS BENARDO (ex-septicflesh) who also produced some great albums like “The Great Mass”, “Titans”, “Communion” from SepticFlesh or “Ritual” and “Kata dou daimona eaftou” from Rotting Christ.

My Recommendation

The album begins with The Awakening, a melodic, soft and atmospheric acoustic musical entry, Karolina's beautiful voice being part of this beautiful ballad melody with hard and constant chords, clean, white and light voice, then with Desert we have a start with powerful chords , slow and long rhythms, excellent dark and heavy atmosphere, the style of this musical track is Doom type with excellent heaviness in the guitars and a little gothic, with the next song by The Old Man we have the style that the band has previously The guitars have a pulsating, dense and heavy rhythm, Karolina's soft and clean voice contrasts well, in the Compass track we have once again that gothic/industrial style, the guitar line is phenomenal, powerful chords that stand out quite a bit, with the next track of Cocoon a total mastery of guitar riffs, accompanied by Karolina's soft and ghostly voice that gives it an excellent atmosphere, dark and dense, now we have the next song Reunion with a slow sound and rhythms see the lyrics of the song about the return of the band, we have slightly cleaner, denser and stronger guitars, in The Key we have a beat that opens the drums with a heavier sound, rhythmic and hard riffs, with a melodic range and with a medium time, and so on until the closing song which is The Path with another beautiful ballad with an atmospheric sound in the background, clean acoustic sound and melody with the same rhythm, in fact the musical introduction is a little more alternative, then some strong guitars and direct ones are present.

Skeptical Minds leaves us this new album << Omega Thanatos>> with which they marked the beginning of a trilogy of albums, but now, eight years later, we have the second album of this trilogy, “Kharon” in honor of the boatman of the underworld Charon and on the cover you can see, you can hear a more notable and structured musical development based on a theme and lyrics, a story also printed in comics with more mature songs and the entire album has a musical line that maintains those guitars powerful, it has beautiful electro/industrial melodies with that gothic and dark atmosphere and our friend Karolina sounds great vocally!

En 2015, Skeptical Minds lanzó algo especial: el primer episodio de una trilogía llamada OMEGA THANATOS. Lanzaron la misma historia en un cómic (56 páginas) y un CD completo (11 pistas) vendidos juntos. Este es un gran éxito. Las reacciones de los fans y los medios son en general muy positivas.

Septiembre de 2017: para celebrar sus 15 años de existencia, la banda acaba de lanzar un DVD doble en vivo con dos conciertos completos grabados en dos famosos festivales belgas y algún extra. (septiembre de 2017).

La banda ahora está lista para lanzar el segundo episodio de la trilogía “OMEGA THANATOS” llamado “KHARON” (álbum completo + cómic). El álbum fue grabado y producido por FOTIS BENARDO (ex-septicflesh) quien también produjo algunos grandes álbumes como “The Great Mass”, “Titans”, “Communion” de SepticFlesh o “Ritual” y “Kata dou daimona eaftou” de Rotting Christ.

Mi Recomendación

El albúm comienza con The Awakening una entrada musical acústica melodica, suave y atmosférica, la bella voz de Karolina haciendo parte de esta bella melodía balada con acordes duros y constantes, voz limpia, blanca y ligera, después con Desert tenemos un arranque con acordes potentes, ritmos lentos y largos, excelente ambientación oscura y pesada, el estilo de esta pista musical es del tipo Doom con excelente pesadez en las guitarras y un poco gótica, con la siguiente canción de The Old Man tenemos el estilo que tiene la banda con anterioridad las guitarras tienen un ritmo palpitante, denso y pesado, la voz de Karolina tan suave y limpia contrasta de buena manera, en la pista de Compass tenemos una vez más ese estilo gótico/industrial, la línea de guitarras es fenomenal, potentes acordes que sobresalen bastante, con la siguiente pista de Cocoon un dominio total de riffs de guitarra, acompañados de la voz suave y fantasmal de Karolina que le da un excelente atmosfera, oscura y densa, ahora tenemos la siguiente canción Reunión con un sonido y ritmos lentos ver la letra de la canción sobre el regreso de la banda, tenemos guitarras un poco más limpias, densas y fuertes, en The Key tenemos un compás que abre la bateria con un sonido más heavy, riffs rítmicos y duros, con un rango melódico y con medio tiempo, y así hasta la canción de cierre que es The Path con otra bella balada con un sonido atmosférico de fondo, sonido acústico limpio y melodía con el mismo ritmo, de hecho un poco más alternativo la introducción musical, que después unas guitarras fuertes y directas hacen presencia.

Skeptical Minds nos deja este nuevo álbum << Omega Thanatos>> con el cual se marcó el comienzo de una trilogía de álbumes, pero ahora, con ocho años después, tenemos el segundo álbum de esta trilogía, “Kharon” en honor al barquero del inframundo Caronte y en la portada se puede ver, se puede escuchar un desarrollo musical más notable y estructurado basado en un tema y lírica, una historia impresa también en comic con canciones más maduras y todo el albúm tiene una línea musical que mantiene en esas guitarras potentes, tiene hermosas melodías electro/industrial con esa atmosfera gótica y oscura y nuestra amiga Karolina vocalmente se escucha grandiosa!
