Member of Mary's Blood (Japanese: メアリーズブラッド) a Japanese all-female heavy metal band from Tokyo, and former member of bands such as Clandestined, Crucified, among others, now with the Mary's Blood band. Now playing at Crucified as well.

After releasing three EPs as an independent band, they signed to Nippon Columbia for their first album, Countdown to Evolution (2014). Mary's Blood then switched to Victor Entertainment for the release of Bloody Palace (2015) and Fate (2016). They signed to Tokuma Japan Communications in 2018 and released three further studio albums, including their highest-charting, Confessions (2019). Mary's Blood began an indefinite hiatus on April 9, 2022.
Hello MARI-san!!! I am very glad and happy to be able to have this interview with you!
What are your musical influences? How did you get into this musical genre of Metal?
MARI:
I fell in love with metal when I was 15 years old listening to X-JAPAN, At the Gate and SLAYER. I like fast music!
What do you like the most about Metal? You have very good drum covers
MARI:
I get excited when I hear a fast-paced song, and I love the cool ticking guitar riffs, and I love the 2-bass. Bay Area Thrash is my favorite.
Now tell us about the hiatus that your band the mighty Mary's Blood took, why was it? I think a question for everyone is Mary's Blood band will return?
MARI:
In order to continue Mary's Blood in the future, I wanted to do even cooler songs and evolve to be able to perform on a bigger stage. For this reason, we have set aside a period of time to recharge our batteries.
We are undecided about the future, but right now, the members are working hard on their individual activities. We hope you will warmly support our activities.

We hope you come back with a lot of energy!
There are several questions I have! Now tell us about your new solo album called Catharsis MARI, it's a great, mature and fast Power metal! And above all you sing! You have nice voice! Why make this album?
MARI:
I had been writing songs for a long time and wanted to make an album.
Being able to sing and make a solo album by myself was a great experience.
Your album has a nice cover! What is your album about? The musical and lyrical theme
MARI:
The album cover was created by TERU (Versailles). I told him my image of the sky, the clouds and the light, and he made me a cover that matched the album title. I like it very much.
Your album Catharsis has a good production! Among them is Hizaki (Versailles / Jupiter), Yui (Cyntia), Masashi (Versailles), Rosana Miho, etc... How was the collaboration with all of them?
MARI:
It was a pleasure to work with some of my favorite artists. Everyone's wonderful performances and arrangements made it a great production. Once again, I am filled with gratitude to everyone.
I would like to polish myself even more and make another album together.
Do you have a favorite song from your debut album? Which is it?
MARI:
I love all the songs, but I have a special attachment to the instrumental "Forbidden Red" and the music video "Glad".
The video for Glad's song is and it sounds great, will you release any other new video?
MARI:
I don't have any new videos planned at this time, but I would like to upload a drum performance. Every Friday we do a live stream on YouTube if you would like to see it.

How has your album Catharsis MARI been reviewed in Japan?
MARI:
We are much honored to have so many interested new listeners, as well as Mary's Blood listeners. We are also very happy to hear from those who listened to us through our guest musicians.
Do you have any collaboration or other projects with other bands?
MARI:
I am currently playing in a Thrash metal band called CRUCIFIED (http://lit.link/crucified ).
There are also opportunities for me to play with other bands, which I will announce on X, so please check back.
Do you have any new surprise in mind?
MARI:

I have no plans for solo gigs at this time, but would love to do so.

Forbidden Red (inst)
It is an instrumental guitar song, with progressive rhythms and beats and drums.
Awakening

Poder cantar y hacer un álbum solista por mi cuenta fue una gran experiencia.

MARÍ:
La portada del álbum fue creada por TERU (Versailles). Le conté mi imagen del cielo, las nubes y la luz, y me hizo una portada que hacía juego con el título del álbum. Me gusta mucho.
