In 2015 Federica began to give singing lessons, a vocation that came naturally when she was a girl. She studied both modern singing and operatic singing, she is a light soprano.

During these years she toured a lot, acted and collaborated with various artists (Serenity, David Ellefson, Mortemia, Frozen Crown, etc.)

In 2019 with Frozen Crown mastermind Federico Mondelli, she founded the modern metal band Volturian; they released their first album Crimson that year and then their second Red Dragon in 2022 (Scarlet Records/Marquee Avalon).

Hello!!!! My friend Federica!! Thank you very much for having this interview with you! How are you?

Federica:

I am fine thanks, I have made a long break at the seaside so I feel positive and recharged

Tell us about yourself! What have you done these months now?

Federica:

With Volturian we released our latest videoclip “Bury me” and now we are about the release “Crimson” on vinyl; in the meantime I am working on my Youtube Channel, I honeslty didn't care about it for a long time ;) and also something new is boiling in the pot, but I prefer to not talk about it now, it's too early and I want to keep the secret

How about the collaborations with several singers and the most recent one with Mortemia with Frozen?

Federica:

I am always really happy to collaborate with other musicians and singers; about this collaboration I can say that It was born naturally: me and Morten both like Madonna, I sent him my cover of “Live to tell” [I made it for Patreon ]and he liked it so much that he asked me to make “Frozen” together. It was a huge honor for me to work with him and give my personal version of this masterpiece

Your voice is beautifully sublime with that light, soft, clean and white register! You are Vocal Coaching tell us about your vocal training!

Federica:

Awww thanks a lot for the kind words, you make me blush! I have started studing singing when I was really young and it wasn't planned at all my career as singer , or as voach. I just wanted to improve myself cause I felt I could express the best part of me through singing. I am trained both in operatic and modern singing, but I never stop learning. I am still a student. This is the best way to be not only a better singer but a better teacher.

Any dates for a tour in these months?

Federica:

Not with Volturian unfortunately

Have you thought about inviting some singers to make a new song or single?

Federica:

Not now , we had Giada by Forzen Crown as our guest on Crimson and it was beautiful

Have you thought about making a solo album? What style would you like to musically address something heavier, darker, more modern or more alternative?

Federica:

I am really eclectic and I don't listen to the same kind of music every day; what I feel, what I want to express, which period of my life is it.... they are all important variables. During the pandemic I was writing a epic pop ep and it sounded cool in my ears at that time, but now it s pretty far from the person I think I am, what I am looking for , the mood and the story I would like to tell. In this period I am listening to a lot of rock and techno, so who knows....

What do you and the Volturian band have in mind?

Federica:

I suppose it would be time to think about the third album soon

Federica:

How is the Metal scene in Italy currently? Since the return of the pandemic

Federica:

It's hard. The situation for those who work in the music business in Italy, and in the metal scene in particular, is really tricky; many clubs closed and there are less and less money, but even if the situation is hard we want to work HARDER to make our dreams come true (and make a living with it ahahah)

Any surprise for your fans? What do you tell them?

Federica:

I never stop so there are things happening behind the curtain that you don t see so stay tuned!
