Averlanche is a Helsinki-based melodic metal band, founded in 2017. Averlanche combines catchy melodies with beautiful female vocals. Their sound is influenced by Finnish heavy metal music from the 90's and early 2000's.

German vocalist Rebecca Spörl moved to Finland in 2014 to start a metal band. In early 2017, she found an announcement that a band was looking for a singer and travelled 170 km from Turku to Helsinki to audition. She got the job as a singer and Averlanche's line-up was complete. At that time Averlanche was Rebecca Spörl (vocals), Antti Kopra (keyboards), Otto Haalahti (guitar), Joonas Hämäläinen (bass) and Antti Pätsi (drums).

Averlanche released their first demo EP The Machinery of Life in fall 2018. In 2019 it was time to record their first full-length studio album. The band contacted producer Hiili Hiilesmaa, who has been working with bands like HIM, Moonsorrow and Sentenced. In September 2019, the band recorded their debut album Life’s Phenomenon at Studio Watercastle with Arttu Sarvanne. The album was released 6th of November 2020.

In the beginning of 2021 drummer Antti Pätsi left the band and Henri Tenhunen, a friend of the band, took over as the new drummer. While practicing new songs during the year 2021, the bassist Joonas Hämäläinen left the band.

Averlanche signed record label deal with JVR Music Group Oy in the autumn 2022. New album "Arctic Atlas" was released in May 12th 2023.

My Recomendation

Interesting icy ambient and atmospheric start in fact with the title with a -273.16 °C that soon surprises us with In the Theater of Fire, yes fire! A totally different melody, melodic and harmonic, with that heavy tinge, which later assails us with Killing Floor following the same line with those sharp and strong chords at the beginning, we have a bit of progressive passages without leaving aside the melodic part, Heartache Parade with that same intensity with a musical entrance full of energy and the beautiful voice of Rebecca sublime, clean, sharp and light, in Island Across they change drastically with a slow musical entrance on guitar and Rebecca's voice envelops you quickly, we have a ballad! In Polaris they return a little more forceful and faster, a chord is present and accompanies the beat throughout the song, from there with Arctica with another beautiful acoustic entry in line with that melodic and passionate guitar, her beautiful voice is present like Island Across but then a heavier chord line kicks in with that prog part and that riff part with chorus vocals in the background give this song a strong point and show a strong song from the album! And in Atlas of Heart closing strong with this same style of the previous song, with a passage of strong chords at the beginning! Excellent production of the album, which plays a melodic and progressive metal with good production.

Averlanche es una banda de metal melódico con sede en Helsinki, fundada en 2017. Averlanche combina melodías pegadizas con hermosas voces femeninas. Su sonido está influenciado por la música heavy metal finlandesa de los 90 y principios de los 2000.

La vocalista alemana Rebecca Spörl se mudó a Finlandia en 2014 para formar una banda de metal. A principios de 2017, encontró un anuncio de que una banda buscaba un cantante y viajó 170 km desde Turku hasta Helsinki para hacer una audición. Consiguió el trabajo como cantante y la formación de Averlanche estaba completa. En ese momento Averlanche era Rebecca Spörl (voz), Antti Kopra (teclados), Otto Haalahti (guitarra), Joonas Hämäläinen (bajo) y Antti Pätsi (batería).

Averlanche lanzó su primer EP de demostración, The Machinery of Life, en el otoño de 2018. En 2019, llegó el momento de grabar su primer álbum de estudio de larga duración. Interesante comienzo ambiental y atmosférico gélido de hecho con el título con una -273.16 °C que pronto nos sorprende con In the Theater of Fire, ¡si fuego! Una melodía totalmente distinta, melodica y armónica, con ese tinte heavy, que después nos asalta con Killing Floor siguiendo la misma línea con esos acordes agudos y fuertes de entrada, tenemos un poco de pasajes progresivos sin dejar a lado la parte melodica, Heartache Parade con esa misma intensidad con una entrada musical llena de energía y la bella voz de Rebecca sublime, limpia, aguda y ligera, en Island Across cambian drásticamente con una entrada musical lenta en guitarra y la voz de Rebecca te envuelve rápidamente, tenemos una balada! En Polaris regresan un poco más contundentes y rápidos, un acorde se hace presente y acompaña al compás en toda la canción, de ahí con Arctica con otra bella entrada acústica de acorde con esa guitarra melodica y pasional, la bella voz de ella se hace presente como en Island Across pero después una línea de acordes más pesados se hace presente con esa parte progresiva y esa parte de riffs con voces en coro de fondo le dan un punto fuerte a esta canción y muestran una canción fuerte del albúm! Y en Atlas of Heart cerrando fuerte con este mismo estilo de la canción anterior, con un pasaje de acordes fuertes al inicio! Excelente producción del disco, que ejecuta un metal melódico y progresivo de buena producción.
