The Helsinki-based melodic metal band Averlanche, founded in 2017, has released a sequel to their second album ARCTIC ATLAS, published in 2023. THE DARK SIDE OF ATLAS EP contains the previously released single "She & the Dark Winter" and three remixed songs from the Arctic Atlas album. Mikael Salo, who is known for the bands Metal De Facto, Dyecrest and Everfrost, is featured as a guest singer on the EP.

"Originally, our plan was to invite Mikael as a guest artist to sing duets with Rebecca. This collaboration started already in November 2022, and by January 2023 we had recorded Mikael's vocal tracks for three songs. However, during the mixing process of the 'Arctic Atlas' album, both our team and our record company came to the conclusion that the songs did not require guest vocals. Since Mikael had done an excellent job, we decided to keep his versions of the songs for possible future use. This decision gave birth to the idea of 'The Dark Side of Atlas' EP.” The band's keyboardist Antti Kopra commented.

My Recomendation

The EP started with the song She & the Dark Winter their second albúm ARCTIC ATLAS, published in 2023, the previously released single "She & the Dark Winter" very melodic, a very soft, harmonious, rhythmic song! With the Atlas of Hearts (Alternative Version) feat. Mikael Salo the son gis more heavy, melodic too, with background choirs, the style of the song is a little more power metal oriented, with hard and direct chords, the Arctica (Alternative Version) feat. Mikael Salo It is a more acoustic song, with the beginning in Rebecca's voice in a soft and phenomenal way, but after the sound is more heavy with the voice of Mikael Salo the chord line remains strong and forceful, with a great solo! And the final of the EP we have again the song She & the Dark Winter (Alternative Version) feat. Mikael Salo with the same strong, rhythmic and forceful guitar line, Mikael's voice is stronger at times. An EP with very melodic, rhythmic versions combining good voices from Mikael and Rebecca!

La banda de metal melódico Averlanche, con sede en Helsinki y fundada en 2017, ha lanzado una secuela de su segundo álbum ARCTIC ATLAS, publicado en 2023. THE DARK SIDE OF ATLAS EP contiene el sencillo lanzado anteriormente "She & the Dark Winter" y tres canciones remezcladas. del álbum Arctic Atlas. Mikael Salo, conocido por las bandas Metal De Facto, Dyecrest y Everfrost, aparece como cantante invitado en el EP.

"Originalmente, nuestro plan era invitar a Mikael como artista invitado a cantar a dúo con Rebecca. El EP comenzó con la canción She & the Dark Winter su segundo álbum ARCTIC ATLAS, publicado en 2023, el sencillo lanzado anteriormente "She & the Dark Winter" muy melódico, una canción muy suave, armoniosa y rítmica. Con el Atlas de Corazones (Versión Alternativa) hazaña. Mikael Salo el son es más pesado, melódico también, con coros de fondo, el estilo de la canción es un poco más orientado al power metal, con acordes duros y directos, el feat Arctica (Alternative Version).
