Shiori Vitus and Ippei J.M formed a band in Osaka called “eleanor” in 2006.
Introduced “Melancholic Gothic Metal” mixing the influence from European bands such as “The Gathering”from which eleanor was affected its name, "Sentenced" "Amorphis" and Japanese sensibility.

Hello, thank you very much for having this interview with you! A big thank you! A great band with a great musical career! Welcome! First of all, how are you?
eleanor:
Thank you for the interview opportunity! I just came back from a release tour and I'm doing great.
For those who have not heard your music yet, what songs would you recommend to get an idea of your style and musical themes? How do you describe yourselves?
eleanor:
We call our music melancholic gothic metal. I think goth metal has a stronger dark image, but we incorporate melancholy, fragility, and delicate Japanese expressions throughout our songs.
You have a great history inside japan music! Tell us a bit of their new production! With your new album Effigy of the Flowing Tears, about the music, lyric and every musical theme?
eleanor:
All songs are written by Ippei J.M. I consistently write eleanor's songs with the theme of melancholic metal, and I write the lyrics with an image in mind that fits the songs.
About their new video [Live Your Own Life] Why that song? Sound very good! Do you have any favourite song of their new album?
eleanor:
Thank you! This song is included in the previous album "DOWNHEARTED". It is the most intense song of Eleanor's songs, but it is filled with many elements that symbolize Eleanor, and it is a song that I cherish very much. I love all of the new album!
Shiori san! Tell us about you! Do you have other projects? Your hobbits?
Shiori:
There are no projects that are regularly active. My hobby is reading. I like Japanese literature. I think the Japanese literatura has an influence on my songwriting as well.
Shiori san! Your voice is great! Tell us a little about your vocal training?
Shiori:
Thank you! I'm a Pilates instructor, so all of my vocal training involves body work, and I don't do any voice training.
Darkzen:
Wow! Excellent!
It seems like you've been holding some music events in these months. Are there any tours outside of Japan?
eleanor:
Unfortunately, I don't have any plans. Right now, we have just released a new album and are touring around Japan. If you have an invitation to perform live outside of Japan, I would definitely like to go.
Darkzen:
Wow! Thank you for you answer friends!
You will release another new musical video?
eleanor:
The music video for “INSOMNIA” has been released. This is the first single from the new album [Effgy Of The Flowing Tears].
In these years, I have seen that the metal scene in Japan has had great momentum! It's great! What do you think guys? Shiori san?
eleanor:
We are happy to have the opportunity to contribute to the Japanese metal scene in our country. We also want to do more activities that attract metal fans from all over the world.
Have you thought about doing a duet or collaboration with other bands from Japan? If so, would it be with a heavier musical style or perhaps something totally different?
eleanor:
There is one very heavy song on the album, and I did a duet with YAMA from SEVENTH SON, a singer who can sing aggressively. I think it was a powerful piece of work.
What do you say to your fans? Any surprises?
eleanor:
I have received many positive messages and comments about my new work. I want to say thank you. Enjoy the new album until we can bring you more news.

ありがとう！その曲は前作「DOWNHEARTED」に収録されている曲です。eleanorの曲で最も激しい曲ですが、eleanorを象徴する要素が沢山詰まっていて、とても大切にしている曲です。
新しいアルバムは、全部好きです！
しおりさん！ あなたについて教えてください! 他にプロジェクトはありますか? あなたのホビット？
Shiori:
定期的に活動しているプロジェクトはないです。趣味は読書。日本の文学が好きです。作詞にも影響を与えていると思います。
しおりさん！ あなたの声は素晴らしいです！ あなたの発声トレーニングについて少し教えてください。
Shiori:
ありがとう！ピラティスのインストラクターをやっているので、ボディーワークが発声トレーニングの全てで、ボイストレーニングはしていません。

ここ数カ月は音楽イベントも開催されているようですね。 日本以外のツアーはありますか？
eleanor:
残念だけど、予定がないです。今はニューアルバムをリリースした直後で、日本国内をツアーしています。日本以外でのライブはお誘いがあれば、是非行きたいと思います。

ここ数年、日本のメタルシーンがすごい勢いで盛り上がっているのを目の当たりにしました。 それは素晴らしい！ 皆さんはどう思いますか？ 詩織さん？
eleanor:
貴方の国でも日本のメタルシーンのことを知ってもらえる機会があって、嬉しいです。私たちももっと世界中のメタルファンにアピールできるような活動をしていきたい。
日本の他のバンドとのデュエットやコラボレーションを考えたことはありますか？ もしそうなら、それはよりヘヴィな音楽スタイルになるでしょうか、それともまったく異なるものになるでしょうか?
eleanor:
アルバムでとてもヘヴィーな曲が1曲あり、アグレッシブに歌えるシンガーSEVENTH SONのYAMAと、1曲デュエットしました。力強い作品になったと思います。
ファンに何と言いますか？ 何か驚きはありますか？
eleanor:

Para aquellos que aún no han escuchado su música, ¿Qué canciones recomendarías para tener una idea de su estilo y temas musicales? ¿Cómo se describen ustedes mismos?
eleanor:
Llamamos a nuestra música metal gótico melancólico. Creo que el metal gótico tiene una imagen oscura más fuerte, pero incorporamos melancolía, fragilidad y delicadas expresiones japonesas en todas nuestras canciones.
¡Tienen una gran historia dentro de la música japonesa! ¡Cuéntanos un poco de su nueva producción! ¿Con su nuevo álbum Effigy of the Flowing Tears, sobre la música, la letra y cada tema musical?
