The meaning of music, of tireless research and of the band’s continuous evolution are summarized in the name AEVUM. Their music is in perpetual inclination towards the union between the human being and the divine, between opposites, male and female, positive and negative, in a genre that is a bond between the neo-classical and gothic metal worlds.

Here is Ilaria Lucille De Santis, our friend and lead vocalist of the band! She will tell us a little bit about the band!

Hello my friend Lucille! How are you?

Lucille:

Hey there! I'm doing great, thanks for asking! It’s been a busy but exciting few months for me and the band. We've been working on a lot behind the scenes, even if things seemed a bit quiet from the outside.

What have you been doing these months? Any other projects?

Lucille:

Aside from Aevum, I’ve been exploring some solo projects as well, diving into different genres and collaborating with other artists. But of course, Aevum remains my top priority. We’ve been carefully crafting new material, and it’s been a period of growth and experimentation for us.

Why has Aevum been a little quiet?

Lucille:

Sometimes you need to take a step back to take two steps forward. We've been focusing on perfecting our sound, ensuring that what we release next is something powerful and meaningful. Plus, the production process of our new album Kaleidoscope has taken a lot of our time and energy.

The single Nightshade sounds great! Soft and calm. Will you release more singles?

Lucille:

Thank you so much! Nightshade was definitely a bit of a departure from our usual intensity. We wanted to show a different, more introspective side of Aevum. And yes, more singles are on the way! We love experimenting with different moods and sounds, so expect a lot of variety in our upcoming releases.

How is the production of your next album Kaleidoscope going?

Lucille:

The production is going really well! We’re in the final stages now, and I can’t wait for everyone to hear it. Each track has its own identity, but they all fit together like pieces of a puzzle. It’s been a long process, but the wait will be worth it.

Tell us about the new album! What’s the theme?

Lucille:

Kaleidoscope touches on a lot of different themes, both personal and societal. We explore inner struggles, the search for identity, and the complexity of human emotions. It’s a reflection of how life can be both chaotic and beautiful, just like the patterns in a kaleidoscope. There are also some darker social themes, touching on isolation and the pressure of modern society.

Is the album continuous in sound? Melodic, dark, symphonic, varied?

Lucille:

Definitely varied! We’ve kept our signature symphonic and dark elements, but there’s a lot of melody, some heavier moments, and even softer, more emotional tracks like Nightshade. We wanted to create an album that feels like a journey, with highs and lows, light and darkness.

What plans does Aevum have for these months? Tours, presentations?

Lucille:

We’re planning some exciting news for the next few months, and we’ll hope to be able to announce some tour dates very soon. We’re also working on some creative concepts for our live performances to really bring the Kaleidoscope experience to life on stage.

What surprises do you have for your fans?

Lucille:

Well, I can’t reveal everything, but we do have some special collaborations in the works. We also plan to release some behind-the-scenes content so our fans can get a closer look at the making of Kaleidoscope and what inspires us. There’s a lot to look forward to!

Lucille:

Just a huge thank you to all of our fans for their support and patience. We’re so excited for what’s coming next and we promise it’ll be worth the wait. Keep an eye out for new music, tour dates, and plenty of surprises from Aevum!
